Dear Students,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome all the students to P. A. Inamdar College of Visual Effects,
Design and Art.
At present, the Global economic scenario is changing rapidly, what was modern yesterday is
suddenly obsolete today. Thus the industries need trained personnel who can innovate rather
than just follow others, considering this, at our college, our aim is to produce such talented,
young & dynamic professionals. Our students will be trained and carefully nurtured in an atmo-
sphere that is creative, harmonizing and challenging to tackle the intense competition. What I
found in our students is that once they set a goal for themselves they are very sincere to achieve
their goal.
The aim of our college is to make sure that our students are prepared and made confident to
face the global challenges.
I convey my best wishes to the new batch of emerging design and animation professionals. May
they have a life full of opportunities and yet have the most professionally satisfying career.
I wish them all a fulfilling education & a bright future ahead.

11. Animation & Media Industry : Facts & Figures
Sample trends from the industry
The Indian media industry is likely to touch Rs 2.26 trillion by 2020.
Close to 1000 films made every year.
The Indian animation industry's total net worth is estimated at US$ 247 million in 2017 and is
expected to grow 15-20% YOY in the next five years. It employs about 80,000 people and there
is scope still for an equal number.
The entertainment market globally which was USD 222 billion till 2020 is expected to grow at
9% YOY in the traditional markets of the west, Japan and Korea.
An important part of the animation industry, Gaming grew to INR 3100 crores in 2017 with
a CAGR growth of 32%- up from 20% a year before!
In addition, several important factors such as Government's role in supporting the animation
industry and production of original content locally also add to its gaining prominence steadily.
The rapid advancement of technology has made computer animation available to the
masses and the animation industry is one of the fastest growing industries.
The demand for animated entertainment has expanded with the increase in broadcasting
hours by cable and satellite TV along with the growing popularity of the Internet. In the past,
animation series was aimed at children aged nine and below. In recent years, however,
TV stations have been producing animation series for teenagers, adults and the whole family.
The starting salary for a fresher would be in the range of INR Rs.10,000 to Rs.18,000 which
is expected to go up exponentially for trained professionals. The reason for this is the huge
size of the market and comparative lack of trained manpower in the entertainment industry.
The Animation in India is currently aided by two key factors, namely a large base of highly
skilled professionals and low cost of production compared to the more mature and
traditional market like North America and Europe.
Liberal FDI policies across all the segments of the industry Government focusing on
regulations to give further force to the industry. (Source: IMaCS Analysis,
FICCI-PWC Frames Report)
Maximum growth expected in Television and Film segments. More than 300 national and
regional TV channels are in operation in India.
Indian Media & Entertainment Industry - Zooming ahead Current Market Size is estimated at
