 Vandalism is the willful or malicious
destruction, injury, or defacement of any
public or private property without the
consent of the owner. Smashed mailboxes,
graffiti, ‘keyed’ automobiles, broken
windows and similar crimes are not just an
eyesore. Property crimes which include
vandalism cost schools, home owners,
businesses, youth and others billions of
rupees each year.
Through our research and
interviews, we’ve discovered
that Glass Breakage is quickly
becoming the most common
type of vandalism that we see
around us.
Everyday, charges are
pressed around the world
against glass breakage. It is
the starting step of most
crimes, mostly done to gain
access to the victim for the
purpose of committing the
crime, be it, burglary, assault,
sexual abuse etc.

 Based on our statistics, public places and
facilities are the areas which are most
frequently vandalized as they are free to
the public and do not have too many
restrictions.
 We suggest stricter policies and rules with
larger and more fearful consequences.
These will stop vandals and enable them
to think twice before committing such
heinous acts.

The youth can play a very strong role in
educating the people and creating awareness.
