This document summarizes the results of Phase One of an assessment of USAID's agribusiness and agriculture value chain development projects. Phase One compiled data on over 240 projects worth $4.93 billion since 1998. It created a database to facilitate analysis and comparison of project impacts. However, a key finding was that projects did not use standardized indicators, limiting the ability to directly compare results. The report recommends that Phase Two select projects for more in-depth analysis and identifies challenges in aggregating data from diverse projects to measure impacts like increases in smallholder incomes.
