It examines trends in output growth, structural changes, regional disparities, and the role of bank credit in the state's development. The study finds that while Uttar Pradesh lags behind on income indicators, analysis of non-income indicators like health and education show that other states also lag. It also explores how bank credit has contributed to growth but also inequality between regions and economic sectors in the state.
