Detachment 842 Sixth largest Air Force ROTC program in the nation with over 250 cadets In 2009, Detachment 842 won the Right of Line Award, the most prestigious award among all Air Force ROTC units UTSA has the largest Air Force ROTC program among Hispanic Serving Institutions Cross-town schools: Alamo Community Colleges, University of the Incarnate Word, Trinity University, St. Mary’s University, Our Lady of the Lake University and the UT Health Science Center
ROTC Life: 4-Year Program General Military Course (GMC) – First 2 years Freshmen and sophomores  1-hour AS class and 2-hour LLAB each week Physical Training – 2 times per week Preparation for Field Training Professional Officer Course (POC) – Last 2 years Juniors and above  Conduct LLAB and manage the corps 3-hours of AS class and 2-hour LLAB each week Physical Training – 2 times per week Competitive for selection – Based on GPA, PFT, AFOQT, FT Receive stipend
