Usurpation, or unjustly seizing another's property or rights, is considered a major sin in Islam. On the Day of Judgment, anyone who commits usurpation will face severe punishment, and whoever usurps even a small piece of someone's land will have that land wrapped around their neck. Usurpation includes reserving public places like mosques or bridges for personal use and denying others access. If usurped property is lost or destroyed, the usurper must compensate the owner.
