The parable describes a nobleman who goes to a distant land to become king and returns. He calls ten servants and gives each a mina, instructing them to invest the money until his return. Two servants double their money, earning praise, while a third fears the man and hides his money. The nobleman rewards the faithful servants and punishes the fearful one, taking his mina and giving it to the most profitable servant. The summary highlights lessons about God giving us responsibilities, gifts, promises, and warnings regarding faithful stewardship of what he has provided.

The life of David is somewhat of a metaphor for our lives. Sometimes you are dazzled at what God can do in our lives. Other times, you shake your head at the terrible decisions you've made. This week we'll look at both a high and a low of David. The mercy he showed Mephibosheth, and the terrible mistake he made with Bathsheba.
The story of Zacchaeus' is akin to Charles Dickens Christmas Carol. It is the story of a miserly, grieving and thieving man who is radically transformed by Jesus. It is a great story of second chances and grace... a sort of Easter Carol of life change.

The Parable of the Minas in Luke 19 is one of Jesus' most complex parables because it's really two parables in one, a lesson for the servants of the King and a lesson for the enemies of the King. This parable contains some of Jesus' strongest teaching about the life and death eternal decision we all must make concerning the King of kings and Lord of lords.
there are four kinds of people in the church. those who do so much with a little, those who do so little with a little, those who do so much with a lot, those who do so little with a lot.

the most vast work transmitted to humanity through Jakob Lorber; it presents a history narrated by Jesus Christ Himself, describing Lord’s and His closed ones’ lives in the last three years of His life on earth, containing a great number of wonders, dialogues and teachings that greatly develop and enrich the records from the Gospels of Matthew and John; it also contains detailed revelations explaining essential passages from the Old and the New Testament and predictions concerning events occurring during the last 2000 years, culminating with facts that characterize the technological civilization of the XX-th Century and disclosures of a scientific nature which were validated long time after Jakob Lorber wrote about them. In the Great Gospel of John, one can practically find the essential answers to all the fundamental questions of life – these are to be found in the clear, but also extraordinary deep descriptions of the divine and human nature, of the creation and the material and spiritual evolution.
These daily readings are designed to help you understand the teachings of the Bible in its original cultural context & will help bring Scripture to life by providing a fresh understanding to familiar passages.

1.
11 While
they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a
parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people
thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at
once.12 He said: “A man of noble birth went to a distant
country to have himself appointed king and then to
return. 13 So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten
minas.[a] ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come
back.’
14 “But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after
him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’
15 “He was made king, however, and returned home. Then
he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in
order to find out what they had gained with it.
16 “The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned
ten more.’
2.
17 “‘Well
done, my good servant!’ his master replied.
‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter,
take charge of ten cities.’
18 “The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five
more.’
19 “His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’
20 “Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your
mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. 21 I was
afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out
what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’
22 “His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own
words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a
hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping
what I did not sow? 23 Why then didn’t you put my money
on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected
it with interest?’
3.
24 “Then
he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away
from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
25 “‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
26 “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more
will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even
what they have will be taken away.
5. What are some lessons we can
learn..
1. GOD HAS GIVEN US A RESPONSIBILITY
Mark 16:15
15 He
said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the
gospel to all creation.
Two Responsibilities
1. Responsibility to God- to obey the command.
2. Responsibility to mankind- to reach out the lost souls
6. We can do this in many ways
By our personal explanation of the gospel to our friends
and relatives
By giving Christian literature (books, bibles, tracts)
By investing in evangelistic efforts
We can do it through newspaper ads, letters of the editor
and articles
We can do it through the Internet
7. 2. GOD HAS GIVEN US GIFTS AND TALENTS
7I
wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift
from God; one has this gift, another has that.
God gives many gifts,
It may be our finances
It may be a particular talent
It may be insightful ideas
It may be an ability to organize
It may be a great vision
It may be a caring heart
It may be the ability to give wise counsel to those who need guidance
8. It may be the ability to mediate between
warring parties
It may be the ability to build or fix things
It may be an athletic ability
9. 3. GOD HAS GIVEN US A PROMISE
God will reward to those who are faithful
V. 17 “‘Well
done, my good servant!’ his master replied.
‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter,
take charge of ten cities.’
18 “The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned
five more.’
19 “His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’
John 14: 2- in my father’s house are many mansions
10. 4. GOD HAS GIVEN US A WARNING
A warning to those who do nothing with the grace and
resources that God has given. They will lose what they have
been given.
Mat 25:29-30
but from him who does not have, even what he has will be
taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the
outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of
teeth.’
11. Conclusion
Using what God has given
God has given us responsibility to reach out the lost
God has given us the gifts and talents to equip us for his glory
God has given us promise, He will reward to those who are faithful
God has given us the warning.
