This chapter discusses using mathematical modeling in education. It describes how to structure spreadsheet activities and the benefits of modeling activities. Simulation and modeling are compared, and how Logo can be used as a learning tool. Robotic competitions and microworlds are also introduced. The steps of data analysis and modeling are outlined. Examples of modeling activities include spreadsheets, microworlds, Logo, and robotics.
