Στο πλαίσιο του έργου «Επιγραμμικές Διαδραστικές Υπηρεσίες της Εκπαιδευτικής Ραδιοτηλεόρασης» του Γ’ Κοινοτικού Πλαισίου Στήριξης, πραγματοποιήθηκε πανελλαδική ποιοτική και ποσοτική έρευνα με σκοπό τη διερεύνηση των αναγκών της εκπαιδευτικής κοινότητας για το περιεχόμενο, τη μορφή και τις τεχνολογίες διάθεσης του υλικού της Εκπαιδευτικής Ραδιοτηλεόρασης. Η ποιοτική έρευνα βασίστηκε στη διεξαγωγή ομαδικών συζητήσεων ενώ η ποσοτική έρευνα στη χρήση ερωτηματολογίου για τη διεξαγωγή τηλεφωνικών συνεντεύξεων και έρευνας μέσω Διαδικτύου. In this presentation, we will review the NewTek NDI integration with PTZOptics Producer Kits built around the Intel NUC Skull Canyon PC. The NewTek ™ NDI (Network Device Interface) is an IP industry standard for sending and receiving ultra low latency, high definition video and audio sources for live broadcasts. The NewTek NDI is a royalty free standard anyone can implement to connect video equipment across a network. Your production switcher, capture system, media server—any NDI-enabled device on the network—can see and access content from all other devices, allowing more sources than ever before to be used for live production. The protocol has been pioneered by Dr. Andrew Cross, NewTek’s president and CTO
PTZOptics does have plans to integrate with the NewTek NDI directly into a camera model in the future. Currently NDI functionality with PTZOptics uses the NewTek Connect Pro Application which is included with the PTZ Producer Kits.

Ultra HD, or UHDTV, is the next generation television standard beyond HDTV and 4K. It provides viewers with a superior sense of reality through higher resolution, higher frame rates, more colors, and higher dynamic range. Key aspects of UHDTV include 8K resolution displays and broadcasting, wide color gamut, high dynamic range, and next-generation 22.2 channel surround sound. Standardization efforts are underway to define UHDTV formats, compression, transport, and end-to-end solutions. Early adopters like Japan and Korea are conducting trials of 8K satellite and terrestrial broadcasting using HEVC video coding and DVB transmission standards.

Patrick Worfolk, Senior Vice President and CTO of Synaptics, presents the “Enabling Visual AI at the Edge: From Surveillance Cameras to People Counters" tutorial at the May 2021 Embedded Vision Summit.
New AI-at-the-edge processors with improved efficiencies and flexibility are unleashing a huge opportunity to democratize computer vision broadly across all markets, enabling edge AI devices with small, low-cost, low-power cameras. Synaptics has embarked on a roadmap of edge-AI DNN processors targeted at a range of real-time computer vision and multimedia applications. These span from enhancing the image quality of a high-resolution camera’s output using Synaptics' VS680 multi-TOPS processor to performing computer vision in battery-powered devices at lower resolution using the company's Katana Edge-AI SoC.
In this talk, Worfolk shows how these edge AI SoCs can be used to:
• Achieve exceptional color video in very low light conditions
• De-noise and distortion-correct both 2D and 3D imagery from a time-of-flight depth camera that images through a smartphone OLED display
• Perform super-resolution enhancement of high-resolution video imagery, and
