Urunana Development Communication (Urunana DC) is a Rwandan NGO established in 2004 that uses entertainment-education approaches like radio soap operas and community theater to promote health and social issues. Some of its key programs include the Urunana radio soap opera, which has been broadcast weekly since 1999 on topics like reproductive health and nutrition. Urunana DC partnered with LAND O'LAKES on a project to increase milk consumption through messages in the soap opera and other media. Workshops were held to develop messages and storylines, test them, and monitor the project's impact, which audience feedback indicates has been effective at changing behaviors.
