This document summarizes a field assignment conducted by the author across the street from the Upper Truckee River, where various geological features and evidence were observed. The main rocks identified in the area are granitic rocks and glacial deposits, shaped by tectonic and glacial processes. Samples of different rocks were collected from the river shoreline, including phyllite, diorite, and serpentine. Various plant and animal species that inhabit the area were also documented, such as Sierra lupine and cliff swallows which nest under bridges across the river.
