It is my pleasure to recommend the services of C-Spire and their Senior Infrastructure Manager Mr. Les Godwin.
As the Vice President for External Affairs and Information Technology at the University of Mobile, I have had
several occasions to work with a broad range of technology companies and consultants covering a varied spectrum
of services. I can think of none better to work with than Les and his team from C-Spire.
The university had been working with an inadequate wireless network installed and maintained by a local
communications company which had recently been acquired by C-Spire. Our history with the original company
proved to be extremely frustrating as they consistently over-promised and under-delivered. The relationship with
this company had deteriorated significantly in recent years, and we were skeptical that C-Spire would be any better.
However, C-Spire offered a solution that was designed to totally transform our wireless internet delivery system,
and free us from the poor service we had grown accustomed to. Understanding our need to boost the WiFi capacity
in order to manage over one thousand users (each of whom demanded a dependable high bandwidth delivery rate),
Les and his team created a design, negotiated the terms, and managed the project which resulted in an extremely
sophisticated and robust WiFi solution for our university that was both deliverable and sustainable.
The installation occasionally presented unforeseen challenges, as our campus presented unique installation problems
due to outdated legacy technology. However, Les and his crew addressed each one without delaying the progress of
the installation or taxing the university’s I.T. personnel with additional workload.
Beginning with the initial contact, Les remained extremely involved with the project through completion, delivering
the installation, management and products necessary to significantly upgrade our wireless network. It became
evident that C-Spire was committed to our organization, as they empowered Les to handle any eventuality regarding
the installation and ongoing management of this new system. Clearly backed by C-Spire, and qualified with a
wealth of experience, Les and his group salvaged what we originally thought would be the end of a business
relationship.
With the installation now nearly 5 months old, we have seen our user satisfaction ratings increase dramatically, and
our support / helpdesk tickets have virtually disappeared.
Therefore, it is without reservation or hesitation that I am recommending C-Spire and Les Godwin for any WiFi
project you may be considering.
