2. Howmany ofyoulike toplay
video games?
Electronics can be fun, but we should learn how to
disconnect our minds from their influence.
3. For example, when you reach the end of the
game Minecraft there is a “portal” you go
through and then a poem plays.
4.
5. • Who is speaking in this poem?
• Has the player become like a god? Are they the creator of reality?
• The suggestion is that those who use their creative abilities used to be accused of sorcery in the past.
This is attempt to say religion is based on fear of the unknown and tends to falsely accuse innocent
people. Is this true? Are witches and sorcerers fiction?
• What else is the writer trying to say. What other word-views are being implied?
• Is the universe alive? Is it capable of love? What is the implication here?
6.
7. • What is happening here?
• Are we one with other things? What is this world-view?
• Do we have everything we need inside ourselves? Do we need God?
• What does this do to the human purpose?
• Are we not made in God’s image set apart from the rest of nature?
• What is love? Can love exist without God? Would it even make sense?
• Are we the combination of good and evil? Darkness and light? Are these equal opposites?
• Is evil normal?
8.
9.
10.
11. • There are lots of references to millions and billions. What does this make you think of?
• What does this do to the human purpose?
• What is happening to reality?
12.
13. • Are we separate from the universe?
• In this poem, what does the universe remind you of?
• It sounds good that the poem is telling the player to wake up and live life, is this what you think they
really mean?
• Who are we, the mountain, the spirit animals, the jinn, the gods, the demons, the ghosts and aliens
etc. Is this saying that supernatural demonic creatures are real? Or is it marginalizing them as old
fashioned religious fears?
• “We are the universe.” Are we a product of our ideas? Is everything all one?
• Are they trying to say that God is just something we imagined?
14.
15. According to the cosmic humanist, we must let go of our belief in absolutes and in
order to reach the next level of consciousness.
However, all types of supernatural mysticism are used to explore ones inner “divinity”.
Does that make sense?
16.
17.
18. It is always important to remember the
Creator/creature distinction. Everything we
can think of was made by God. God was never
and will never be part of His creation.
Creation is temporal and God is eternal.
Secular world-views believe in the continuity
of being. They tend to limit God and make
Him part of his creation. They also add
potential to man and and nature to bring
them up to be like God.
We can recognize these ideas around us and
learn to separate our minds from their
influence.
19. Satan’s goal for humans is to get them to let down their guard or empty their minds so he can
increase his influence. The more exposure he can get the better his chance of controlling us, and
keeping us away from God.
When we spend too much time on electronics, playing on the computer, or watching television,
we are not actively alert in our minds or our bodies. This leaves us open to influence.
We essentially become empty shells waiting to be filled with a virtual reality instead or living
our real lives. We also waste our purpose to glorify God if we live our lives distracted by screens.
In effect we choose to be slaves to electronics and give up control and freedom of our own minds.
God wants us to always be ALERT and never empty our minds. We should always have control
over our minds and bodies, and never let something else be in control of us.
We should also remember the time that God gives us is a gift and we should try to use our time
wisely and make the most of our opportunities in the short time that we are here.
20. 1 Peter 5:8
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking
someone to devour.
Proverbs 4:23
Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
Matthew 7:15
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Matthew 26:41
"Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is
weak."
Ephesians 5:15-16
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because
the days are evil.
Colossians 4:5-6
Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech
always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each
person.
