intoMENA Group is a hands-on, market-entry “local” partner for global-minded companies interested in exploring
and tapping new opportunities in the emerging market of the Middle East & North Africa region (“MENA”).
We have an extensive local experience, expertise, and network in MENA and a passion to help companies access and
prosper in those markets.
We identify established, proven, and promising global companies in select key industries that have yet to tap or tap
their full potential into MENA market but are keen and committed to, and help them achieve their sales, marketing, and
market-entry related targets.

Amir Hegazi has over 15 years of e-commerce, digital media, management consulting,
strategic advisory, business development, high tech, and startup experience both
internationally and in the Middle East.
Amir is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of intoMENA Group, a globally-focused
consulting firms that helps international technology companies do business into the
Middle East & North Africa region (“MENA”), most particularly across such sectors as
e-commerce, logistics, fintech, IT, FMCG, hospitality, media, and education. The
underlying mission of intoMENA is to bring value to the local MENA markets and facilitate
impactful business engagements between the most innovative international companies
and top regional decision makers.
Amir was instrumental in various key leading cross-border trade initiatives both in KSA
and in the region in general, including Saudi Post Wasel Alami, Oman Post Matjar, and
Egypt Post MyEgyptStore, all of which are geared for unlocking cross-border trade in the
region, boost MENA e-commerce consumption, and support local SME’s. He is also an
advisor to Saudi Arabia Ministry of Commerce and Investments under its E-commerce
Council Committee initiative.

Prior, Amir was the Director of Marketplace at Souq.com, the largest e-commerce platform in the
Arab world (recently acquired by Amazon.com for approx. $580M). While there, he helped launch
and build the largest online marketplace in the region from the ground up to account for more than
30% of overall sales volume (“GMV”). His role also involved interfacing with hundreds of merchants
and retailers to understand their growing e-commerce pains, educate on starting and managing a
successful e-commerce operation, and build the tools and solutions needed to help them start and
scale their e-commerce business effectively on the platform.
Amir is also one of the early pioneers of digital media in the region, having launched and managed
the largest online TV network in the Arab world at JumpTV and Talfazat (acquired by Neulion Inc.
in 2009).
Amir is the author of Amazon international business books bestsellers, Ecosystem Arabia:
The Making of a New Economy and Startup Arabia: Stories and Advice from Top Tech
Entrepreneurs in the Arab World. Startup Arabia was also selected as one of the best 20
startup books worldwide to read in 2019 by Book Authority (www.BookAuthority.com), the
world’s leading site for nonfiction book reviews and recommendations.

Amir Hegazi has over 15 years of e-commerce, digital media, management consulting, strategic advisory, business development, high tech, and startup experience both internationally and in the Middle East. Amir is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of intoMENA Group, a globally-focused consulting firms that helps international technology companies do business into the Middle East & North Africa region (“MENA”), most particularly across such sectors as e-commerce, logistics, fintech, IT, FMCG, hospitality, media, and education. The underlying mission of intoMENA is to bring value to the local MENA markets and facilitate impactful business engagements between the most innovative international companies and top regional decision makers. Amir was instrumental in various key leading cross-border trade initiatives both in KSA and in the region in general, including Saudi Post Wasel Alami, Oman Post Matjar, and Egypt Post MyEgyptStore, all of which are geared for unlocking cross-border trade in the region, boost MENA e-commerce consumption, and support local SME’s. About Amir Hegazi (Cont.) 5 | © 2020 intoMENA Group Prior, Amir was the Director of Marketplace at Souq.com, the largest e-commerce platform in the Arab world (recently acquired by Amazon.com for approx. $580M). While there, he helped launch and build the largest online marketplace in the region from the ground up to account for more than 30% of overall sales volume (“GMV”). His role also involved interfacing with hundreds of merchants and retailers to understand their growing e-commerce pains, educate on starting and managing a successful e-commerce operation, and build the tools and solutions needed to help them start and scale their e-commerce business effectively on the platform. Amir is also one of the early pioneers of digital media in the region, having launched and managed the largest online TV network in the Arab world at JumpTV and Talfazat (acquired by Neulion Inc. in 2009). Amir is the author of Amazon international business books bestsellers, Ecosystem Arabia: The Making of a New Economy and Startup Arabia: Stories and Advice from Top Tech Entrepreneurs in the Arab World. Startup Arabia was also selected as one of the best 20 startup books worldwide to read in 2019 by Book Authority (www.BookAuthority.com), the world’s leading site for nonfiction book reviews and recommendations.
