2016 Successful Campaign
In the 2015 Campaign, we took in $23,190, including a $10,000 donation from
Contributions Committee. We have been focusing on the number of givers
(increased 53% last year from the previous year) and now we want to increase the
amount of gifts. One way to do that is by increasing payroll deductions (pledges).
We had 100 people who used payroll deduction last year and an additional 75
people gave one-time gifts.
Our main goal was to increase the amount of people making payroll deductions,
turning employees from one time givers to pledgers and most likely increasing the
amount our campaign raised.
Goals
Campaign reinforced the
superhero concept – Save the
Day for the United Way.
It also included encouragement
to pledge a dollar a week by
showing the Power of a Dollar
at the kick off event – Dollar
Day.
Anyone who pledged or made
a gift of at least $15 received a
superhero power pack!
There were prize drawings for
both regular employees and
temporary employees.
Main Themes
The Power of a Dollar was the theme of our campaign that ran Oct. 20 – Nov. 3. We felt that
a pledge of just a dollar a week could help tremendously. To kick that off, we had Dollar Day
in the Cafeteria with these activities:
•  You could get a cool charger for your phone with a pledge or gift on $15 or more.
•  You could buy a yummy baked good for a dollar.
•  Any gift or pledge to United Way allowed you to spin the prize wheel.
•  You could get a FREE Gertrude Hawk Candy Bar just for coming (bring your coupon from
the pledge packet you will receive at your desk or from your supervisor)!
•  ACCO Brand employees who made any payroll deduction pledge were entered into the
prize drawing for a nice Bose Speaker System.
•  ACCO Brands employees who make any gift or pledge were entered into a drawing to
win an iPAD2 mini, a Go Pro, a Fit Bit or a Vacation Day

Our local community organizations need your help!
ACCO Brands and Sidney United Way have worked together with superhero
strength to help provide the basic health and human services to our
friends and neighbors in need. One of the many advantages of giving
to United Way is the assurance that your contribution is used in the
most effective way possible in our community.
United Way keeps administrative costs to a minimum, and local volunteers make
funding decisions after a thorough review of each agency's budgets and
programs. United Way is helping where help is needed most!
Plus, please remember that ACCO Brands offers employees the convenience of
giving through payroll deduction OR a one time gift. This makes contributing to
United Way a little bit easier and more convenient for all of us.

United Way Campaign
United Way Fun continued on Oct 31, part way through
the campaign!
We had our United Way Superhero Contest and a chance
for people to visit with some United Way member
organizations.
Many people had fun with our Save the Day for the United
Way costume theme! All participants received a special
treat.
Halloween event
We used the Power of a Dollar to kick off the campaign, gave out power packs to
everyone who made a pledge or gift of $15, and had fun as United Way
Superheroes on Halloween to Save the Day for the United Way. It was a GREAT
campaign with GREAT generosity!
The number of pledges was up almost 50% over last year.
The money given in pledges and donations was up 22% over last year.
And our number of employee givers was up 11% over last year.
By writing a letter of request to our Sidney Contributions Committee outlining new
United Way projects, the committee increased its gift to the United Way over last
year’s gift and added a $13,000 contribution to the campaign.
So the total we donated to the local United Way campaign from ACCO Brands
was $28,880.
In addition, we gave out numerous prizes to employees who participated, from
candy bars to an iPad Mini, GoPro, Fitbit and Bose speaker.
