United Flight 93 was hijacked as part of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. The flight took off from Newark carrying 44 passengers and 7 crew members, 4 of whom were terrorists. As the passengers learned of the other hijackings through phone calls, they attempted to retake control of the cockpit. The lead terrorist crashed the plane into a field in Stonycreek Township, Pennsylvania at 10:10 AM to prevent the passengers from gaining control, killing all onboard. The crash of Flight 93 marked the end of the 9/11 attacks and inspired the nation in the aftermath.
