United Flight 93 was hijacked as part of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. The flight took off from Newark carrying 44 passengers and 7 crew members, 4 of whom were terrorists. As the passengers learned of the other hijackings through phone calls, they attempted to retake control of the cockpit. The lead terrorist crashed the plane into a field in Stonycreek Township, Pennsylvania at 10:10 AM to prevent the passengers from gaining control, killing all onboard. The crash of Flight 93 marked the end of the 9/11 attacks and inspired the nation in the aftermath.

4. A Day of Catastrophe September 11 th , 2001 had already stunned the USA 3 other planes had been hijacked The Twin Towers in NYC were already struck by two hijacked planes A third plane hit the Pentagon Passengers of Flight 93 became worried when the plane changed direction rapidly

5. The Takeover At 9:28, the terrorists took over the cockpit Terrorists used box cutters as weapons Once in control, they announced that a bomb was aboard The passengers began making phone calls to family members Nobody knew what would happen The passengers began to collaborate and try to find a way out

6. Revolt At 9:57, passenger and staff aboard Flight 93 charged the cockpit In desperation, Jarrah (the terrorist who was flying the plane) began to rock the plane He was trying to throw the angry passengers off balance In doing so, he crashed in a field located in Stonycreek, PA

7. Aftermath All airports were closed and flights in air were landed immediately The Sears Tower in Chicago was evacuated Schools were closed USA went on the highest state of alert (red alert)

8. A Day To Remember People of America were brought together as a result of the catastrophe In addition, airport and nation security has never been more strict The acts of terror on 9/11/01 reminded the USA that even a small group of people could scar a nation as powerful as the USA
