licence, so they get
a vote on how the
certain channel
works etc. They
basically own a
small section of the
business.

made up of a few
other companies
input. The gains &
losses are shared
between each
company what is
joined evenly.
 When a business
starts on its own
and progresses
without any other
business’ help. For
example; Apple
worked their own
way up, now they’re
one of the biggest
business’.

list) and produce a 500 word case-study on that
company.
 Choose from, Disney, Apple, Sony (& SyCo), News
Corporation, Google etc
 Start by telling me what media sector it belongs to.
 What products it produces (cross-media?)
 How it is organised, i.e. is it vertically or horizontally
integrated. Why is it organized this way what are the
benefits and disadvantages
 Who own the company is it public or private
and what does this mean for the company
 Who are its competitors?
 Impact on production and distribution
 Who are the customers?
 Find quotes on how many it has
 What are the demographics, eg male female, age,
socio economic group
 Who are the customers?
