1) Moses fled to Midian after killing an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew slave. When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses.
2) God brought the Israelites out of Egypt but they would not listen to or follow His ways, so God gave them over to their stubborn hearts.
3) The Israelites were not able to enter the Promised Land because of their unbelief and disobedience during their 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, even after seeing God's works. Their bodies perished in the wilderness as a result of not following God.
