Pastor Jimmy taught out of Mark 5 verses 1-20 this week, showing the importance realizing that although satan seeks to bind and destroy us, Jesus possesses the power to deliver and transform!
A supernatural encounter mark 5 -1-20 - march 17, 2013John Smith
1. Jesus encounters a demon-possessed man among tombs, casting out many demons into a herd of pigs.
2. The crowd reacts in fear upon seeing the now sane man, while the man wants to follow Jesus.
3. Jesus instructs the man to go tell his friends about what the Lord has done for him.
Yusuf had a dream that eleven stars and the sun and moon would bow down to him, upsetting his brothers. They threw him into a well and later sold him into slavery. Yusuf was imprisoned but interpreted dreams, gaining favor. He became a high official in Egypt. Yusuf stressed the oneness of God and that no partners could be attributed to Him. The story of Yusuf provides lessons for those with understanding.
People will say, "why does God even allow us to disobey him in the first place? Wouldn’t the world be so much better if he didn’t?" But at the same time, it is an opportunity for him to show His redemptive power, which is more than He could have done if we never needed to be rescued in the first place.
The document provides details from the book of Jeremiah. It summarizes that Judah fell due to lies, pride, and idolatry. Jeremiah cried out in sadness for Judah's sins. God called the people to repentance through Jeremiah to avoid condemnation, but Jerusalem did not want to listen. Jeremiah was threatened with death for prophesying against the temple and Jerusalem, but he was absolved by judges who recognized he spoke on behalf of God.
This document contains several Bible verses about faith in Jesus Christ and working through him. It discusses how faith allows people to accomplish great things, please God, and receive his promises. The verses show that Jesus marveled at people's faith and was able to do more through those who believed. Faith empowers believers to live for Christ even in the face of hardships.
Joseph was thrown into a well by his brothers and sold into slavery, ending up as a servant in the household of the chief minister of Egypt. The minister's wife, Zulaikha, fell in love with Joseph but he refused her advances due to his faith. In retaliation, she falsely accused him of assaulting her. Joseph was then sent to prison by the chief minister to protect his wife's honor, despite Joseph's innocence. The document outlines these key events in Joseph's story based on details from the Quranic chapter 12.
Journey Through the Bible Part 6: Joshua - Promise FulfilledResurrection Church
The document provides an overview of the biblical book of Joshua, which tells the story of the Israelites conquering the promised land under Joshua's leadership after Moses' death. It describes how Joshua led battles to take cities like Jericho and defeated nine city-states, carrying out God's command to completely destroy the inhabitants. The document also discusses the morally controversial nature of these actions and God's past judgments against severely sinful peoples. It notes an example of Rahab showing faith in God and receiving mercy. Finally, it emphasizes the lessons of obedience to God and choosing wholeheartedly to serve him alone.
In this section of Mark's gospel, the author profiles four powerful situations where those who witness Christ's power believe in Him as Lord and Savior. (Mark 4:34-6:56)

It provides biblical passages that show Jesus is God's chosen one and son who was baptized by John the Baptist. Jesus claimed to be the Messiah and son of God, for which he was condemned to death. Prophecies in Isaiah foretold that the Messiah would suffer for the sins of mankind. Though killed, Jesus would see his offspring and prolong his days, showing he has power over life and death.
The document contains multiple Bible passages discussing temptation and sin. It describes how David saw Bathsheba bathing and had an affair with her, which resulted in her becoming pregnant. It also contains passages about resisting temptation and submitting to God instead of sin.
Moses was tending sheep in the wilderness when he saw a burning bush that was not consumed. God called out to Moses from the bush and told him to take off his sandals as he was standing on holy ground. God revealed himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God told Moses he had seen the suffering of the Israelites in Egypt and wanted Moses to go to Pharaoh and demand that he let the Israelites go. Moses questioned who he was to do this, but God assured him that he would be with Moses and perform wonders through him to convince Pharaoh. God tested Moses' faith in three ways:
1) By having Moses choose to suffer mistreatment with the Israelites in Midian rather than enjoy the pleasures of Egypt.
2) By preparing Moses during his time in Egypt and Midian so that he could lead the Israelites out of Egypt during the Passover.
3) By empowering Moses to stand alone and risk taking the Israelites out of Egypt despite Pharaoh changing his mind and pursuing them with his army. Through enduring these tests, Moses demonstrated true faith in God.

The document discusses passages from the Bible about the Israelites preparing to take possession of the land that God had promised them. It references verses instructing Joshua to prepare the people to cross the Jordan River and conquer the land. Joshua is told to be strong, courageous, and obedient in leading the people. “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11:6. When we act with faith that goes beyond our abilities and resources, we please God. There will be times when we will face obstacles that appear to be too big for us to handle on our own. Like the Israelites on the edge of the Promised Land, God will give us opportunities to increase our faith by allowing us to participate in His plans. Sadly, the Israelites focused on the obstacles and their abilities rather than on God’s plan. Faith compels to focus on His vision. Faith says, “I believe God will do this… and I’m putting my trust in Him with faith that goes beyond.”

1) The document describes how the Israelites were defeated in battle against Ai because one man, Achan, had stolen dedicated items in violation of God's commands.
2) Achan confessed to stealing a beautiful robe, silver, and gold, which Joshua and the Israelites discovered buried in his tent.
3) Achan, his family, and possessions were taken to the Valley of Achor where he and his family were stoned for his sin, which had brought trouble upon the Israelites.
We’re Wrestling Who? - Ephesians 6:10-13David Turner
Our battles are not against flesh and blood. Our battles are against Principalities and Powers. These adversaries are much bigger than us and cannot be defeated by our own strength. In Ephesians 6:10-13 Paul identifies who we are really wrestling with and follows up with advice on how to compete to gain victory. For this and other PowerPoint Presentations go to www.Bibleguy.org.
This document contains multiple passages from the Bible discussing Jesus's miracles and teachings. It describes his healing of those possessed by unclean spirits, healing a woman who had been ill for 12 years by touching his cloak, and raising a young girl from the dead when the ruler of the synagogue pleaded for him to heal his daughter. It emphasizes looking to Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith.

The document discusses different types of spirits mentioned in the Bible such as spirits of divination, seducing spirits, unclean spirits, evil spirits, and foul spirits. It also mentions devils, the devil, Satan, and characteristics of spirits such as dwelling among tombs, crying loudly, cutting oneself, being cast into fire or water, and possessing people.

Jesus encounters a man possessed by demons living among tombs outside a village. The demons beg Jesus to allow them to enter a herd of pigs, which then stampede into a lake and drown. The villagers are more concerned about the economic loss of the pigs than the healing of the man. Jesus delivers the man from the demons and sends him to tell others what God has done for him.
The document discusses Mark and his connection to the Gospel of Mark. It provides biblical passages that refer to Mark and establish him as a companion of Paul and Barnabas and refer to him as John Mark. The document also discusses key aspects of the Gospel of Mark, including that it is considered the earliest written gospel and establishes Jesus as the Son of God and savior foretold in the Old Testament as bringing light and salvation.
The document describes Ezekiel's vision of dry bones coming to life. Ezekiel is brought by the Spirit to a valley full of dry bones. God commands Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones, saying He will put breath in them and make them live again. As Ezekiel prophesies, the bones come together with sinews and flesh and breath, becoming a vast army. God explains that the bones represent Israel believing their hope is lost, but He will save them.
I. Uzziah's reign in Judah ended with him becoming a leper after arrogantly performing priestly duties. Isaiah then has a vision of God on his throne, surrounded by angels singing "Holy, holy, holy".
II. Upon seeing the holiness and glory of God, Isaiah is overwhelmed by his own sinfulness. However, one of the angels touches Isaiah's lips with a burning coal from the altar, cleansing him from sin.
III. God asks who will go speak for him, and Isaiah volunteers, saying "Here am I; send me". Isaiah recognizes humanity's need for holiness and repents from his sin, opening himself up to be used by God.

The document discusses several Bible passages about Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, and his role in salvation. It references Isaiah's prophecy of the virgin birth, Jesus' rebuke of hypocrisy, the fruits of the spirit versus sins of the flesh, Jesus' lament over Jerusalem, humanity's sinful nature, the woman and dragon in Revelation representing Mary and Satan, and songs praising Jesus' role in the war against sin and death.
A supernatural encounter mark 5 -1-20 - march 17, 2013John Smith
1. The document outlines a sermon discussing Jesus' sovereignty as revealed in Mark 5, including his power over nature, demons, and death.
2. It summarizes Jesus' encounter with a demon-possessed man, in which Jesus commands the demons to leave the man and enter a herd of pigs, drowning them.
3. The document notes the dual reaction to this event - the crowd was afraid while the formerly possessed man wanted to follow Jesus and instead was told to spread the word of what Jesus had done for him.
The document provides commentary on Revelation 17, which describes a mysterious woman sitting on a scarlet beast. It notes that a woman in Bible prophecy represents a church. It analyzes details about the woman's clothing and the name written on her forehead - "Mystery, Babylon the Great" - to symbolize a fallen or apostate church. The beast is described as full of blasphemy and is connected to prophecies of a power that opposes God and exalts itself, revealing it represents a kingdom influenced by Satan. The summary identifies the key symbols and their proposed meanings within the document's interpretation of Revelation 17.
- Jesus knew that Judas would betray him, as it was foretold in scripture. At the last supper, Jesus troubled by what would happen, told the disciples one of them would betray him. He identified Judas by giving him a piece of bread dipped in broth. After receiving the bread, Satan entered Judas and he went out to betray Jesus to the chief priests. Though Jesus loved Judas, his betrayal was part of God's plan to fulfill scripture and bring about salvation for mankind.
Saul was persecuting Christians and sought permission from the high priest to arrest believers in Damascus. On the road to Damascus, Saul experienced a vision of Jesus and was blinded by a light. He heard Jesus say "Why do you persecute me?" and was led into Damascus. A disciple named Ananias was instructed to visit Saul and restore his sight. Ananias laid hands on Saul and he regained his sight. Saul was baptized and spent time with the disciples in Damascus.
Satan had destroyed a man by disconnecting him from God, entrapping him in an impure surroundings, and manipulating him into injuring himself. This man, possessed by an evil spirit called Legion, lived among tombs. When Jesus encountered him, he delivered the man by commanding the evil spirit to come out. Jesus' liberation defeated Satan and his numerous strong forces. However, the local people were repulsed by this and begged Jesus to leave their region, as they feared the loss of their possessions. The formerly possessed man then felt compelled to proclaim all that Jesus had done for him and how he had shown mercy.
Jesus heals a man who was possessed by many demons near Gadarene. The demons entered a herd of swine, causing them to run into a lake and drown. The people of the town asked Jesus to leave after witnessing this. Jesus healed the man by casting the demons out of him. The man then went to spread the word about what Jesus had done for him.

Main Points:
*We become part of God's family not by physical birth, but spiritual." (v 31-34)
*Evidence of being part of God's family is based not on interest for Jesus but obedience to Jesus!" (v. 35)
This week Bob Uhrich, our Director of Children, spoke out of 2 Corinthians 4. He taught us that just as God used broken people like Paul to preach the Gospel of Jesus, find power in the message of God and point people to the hope and encouragement found in Jesus coming again... God can and does choose to use us.
Finding Hope and Comfort During Grief and the Difficulties of Life.TheHillChurch
This document discusses how God provides comfort and hope during times of grief and difficulty. It makes three key points: (1) The Bible says that life will include hard times but God acts as a comforter. (2) God comforts us through the Holy Spirit and support from other Christians. (3) God gives us a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ and this hope helps us endure trials which produce character.
Pastor Jimmy Steele continues teaching from Mark and this week drew out truths from Mark 3:20-30 about how "Jesus is the King who has DEFEATED the kingdom of darkness, providing FREEDOM and ASSURANCE to ALL who believe in Him!"
Join us as we continue to delve into the book of Mark and glean truths about The Son of God! This week Pastor Jimmy Steele teaches on the importance of abiding with Jesus. "Jesus came not to fulfill our desires, but to call us to be with Him."
Please join us in diving into the book of Mark while we unpack the Son of God. "Jesus didn't come to perpetuate our work but to declare and demonstrate Himself as our true spiritual rest from it."
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.
Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1

The pervasiveness of Lying in today's World.pptxniwres
In our interconnected world, lies weave through the fabric of society like hidden threads. We encounter them in politics, media, personal relationships, and even within ourselves. The prevalence of deception raises profound questions about truth, trust, and the human condition.

Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.

2. Though Satan seeks to bind and destroy,
Jesus possesses the power to deliver and
transform.
3. They came to the other side of the sea, to the
country of the Gerasenes. 2 And when
Jesus had stepped out of the boat,
immediately there met him out of the tombs
a man with an unclean spirit. 3 He lived
among the tombs. And no one could bind him
anymore, not even with a chain, 4 for he had
often been bound with shackles and chains,
4. but he wrenched the chains apart, and he
broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the
strength to subdue him. 5 Night and day
among the tombs and on the mountains he
was always crying out and cutting himself
with stones. 6 And when he saw Jesus from
afar, he ran and fell down before
him. 7 And crying out with a loud voice,
5. he said, “What have you to do with me,
Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you
by God, do not torment me.” 8 For he was
saying to him, “Come out of the man, you
unclean spirit!” 9 And Jesus asked him, “What
is your name?” He replied, “My name
is Legion, for we are many.” 10 And he
begged him earnestly not to send them out of
the country.
6. 11 Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there
on the hillside, 12 and they begged him,
saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter
them.” 13 So he gave them permission. And
the unclean spirits came out and entered the
pigs; and the herd, numbering about two
thousand, rushed down the steep bank into
the sea and drowned in the sea.
7. The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and
in the country. And people came to see what
it was that had happened. 15 And they came
to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man,
the one who had had the legion, sitting
there, clothed and in his right mind, and they
were afraid. 16 And those who had seen it
described to them what had happened to the
demon-possessed man
8. and to the pigs. 17 And they began to beg
Jesus to depart from their region. 18 As he
was getting into the boat, the man who had
been possessed with demons begged him that
he might be with him. 19 And he did not
permit him but said to him, “Go home to your
friends and tell them how much the Lord has
done for you, and how he has had mercy on
you.”
9. 20 And he went away and began to proclaim
in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for
him, and everyone marveled (Mark 5:1-20).
11. And you were dead in the trespasses and
sins in which you once walked, following
the course of this world, following the
prince of the power of the air, the spirit
that is now at work in the sons of
disobedience—among whom we all once
lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying
out the desires of the
12. body and the mind, and were by
nature children of wrath, like the rest of
mankind (Eph. 2:1-3).
13. He has delivered us from the domain of
darkness and transferred us to the kingdom
of his beloved Son, in whom we have
redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Col.
1:13-14)
16. But you are a chosen race, a
royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people
for his own possession, that you may
proclaim the excellencies of him who called
you out of darkness into his marvelous
light. 10 Once you were not a people, but
now you are God's people; once you had not
received mercy, but now you have received
mercy (1 Pet. 2:9-10).
17. Though Satan seeks to bind and destroy,
Jesus possesses the power to deliver and
transform.
