and flair and working independently to professional expectations
The portfolio must comprise of the following:

to include advantages and disadvantages of each one.
2. Creative mood board: You are to produce a creative mood board based upon past and
current commercial practice
3. Developing an idea: create a mood board of similar products of publicity materials and
packaging with added justifications as to why they are inspirational and would be suitable

you need to consider within your designs:
a. What available resources and personnel do you need and where will you get them
from? ;
b. Costs and quantity – how many are you producing and how much will this cost – you

– take into consideration ALL materials;
c. The quality factors your products will hold and how will they appeal to the target
audience;

you will cut and that you will print out in greyscale and do trail prints – state why. You will
also describe the process of print finishing including the folding, binding, laminating and if
these are need or not.
7. Surveys: You are to upload 2 established packaging designs (similar to the ones you intend
to produce) onto Facebook and ask the audience which they prefer (ideally label them A and
B) and why? You will use this research in the design and creation of your own designs.
Upload screens shots of the images and feedback here.

socio-economic grouping, lifestyle, location; audience figures, eg ASA, ABC, ONS;
a. Primary content research: You are to carry out primary research into your target
audience, as well as your intended products eg interviews, questionnaires, own
observations; e.g. You could ask 5/6 questions on Facebook covering: Age, Gender,
What is their favourite brand and why, favourite colour, favourite typeface e.g. serif
or sans serif (give examples) etc.
b. Secondary content research: You are to carry out secondary research e.g. by
gathering similar examples (put these in your folder) and a packaging review which
covers research into competitors and the market (see Moodle for extra guidance on
how to review)
9. Justification of idea: You are to write a brief report based upon the justification of the nets
and promotional product style you have selected are the most suitable and why.
