The Beatles had a lot of music that showed the flip side of the counterculture movement of the 1960’s. John Lennon always had an understanding of the hypocrisy in the media, and used his music to represent his feelings towards it. In perhaps their most infamous song, revolution 9, John Lennon uses random ambient noises and chaotic sounds in order to show the true nature of revolution. It is not some grand thing that leads to peace and love, it is in fact the opposite. This draws a parallel to the scene in which Fritz organizes a revolt against the police, only to find it was not what he wanted in the slightest.
