This document reviews the legal minimum ages and the realization of adolescents' rights in Latin America and the Caribbean, emphasizing the importance of age in protecting rights while acknowledging adolescents' evolving capacities. It analyzes various minimum ages related to marriage, sexual consent, medical consent, employment, education, and criminal responsibility, providing a critical overview of their implications on adolescents' protection and development. The study aims to support advocacy for setting appropriate legal minimum ages that enhance the rights and welfare of adolescents across the region.
