The Celts lived in Britain and Ireland from 750BC to 43AD, coming from across Europe. They were part of tribes with their own kings or queens, and engaged in frequent fighting. Notable Celtic groups included the Gauls, Britons, and Gaels. The Celts were skilled craftspeople who worked with iron to make weapons and tools. They were fierce warriors who painted themselves for battle and fought naked or near-naked. They lived in roundhouses and were mainly farmers who also hunted and gathered food. The Romans eventually invaded Britain and conquered the Celts in 43AD.
