The integration of mobile phones/applications and Internet technologies into formats that are easy to access and use creates further inclusionary platforms that require little technical skills, relatively little time investment and information flows in multiple directions that encourage discussion. This culminates in the growing availability of locally and globally relevant content to facilitate knowledge-building, community building and speedy mobilisation of groups to transform their world, in addition to giving civil society advocates a timely and speedy voice in global decision making processes.
The Harvard Humanitarian Initiative research team led by Jennifer Chan and Melissa Tully, supported by the Knight Foundation, conducted evaluation research. Over the year, they interviewed Kenyan Ushahidi deployers, specifically those participating in Uchaguzi, Unsung Heros and Building Bridges, and had community members help shape the research deliverables. Evaluation to action was a key goal of the project. Their research resulted in the creation of three toolboxes to assist users in the various stages of their Ushahidi deployments: Assessment, Implementation and Outputs.

Voter Education by the Independent Electoral Commission and Political Awarene...ijtsrd
The study investigated voter education by the Independence National Electoral Commission and Political Awareness among residents of South – South Nigeria. The essence was to ascertain the level at which INEC’s voters education messages have been able to promote political awareness among residents to the South – South Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria.Survey research method was used for the study while questionnaire was adopted as data collection instrument. The 30.221.345 residents of South – South Geopolitical Zone were used as the population of the study from where a sample size of 385 was drawn using the Australian National Bureau of Static online Sample Calculator. The multi staff Sampling Technique was used for the study while simple percentage were deployed in analyzing he collected data. Based on the analysis of data, findings revealed that INEC’s voter education materials are not very comprehensive to majority of the respondents. INEC’s voter education messages have not significantly promoted respondents knowledge of the practices that could lead to voiding of votes. Based on the finding, the study recommended that INEC should repackage its voter education materials in such manner that it will be well understood by the various categories of the citizens such as the blind, deaf and dumb, illiterates as men as the literates. INEC’s voter education messages should target the promotion of the knowledge of electoral act among the residents and knowledge of voting procedure in elections and how voiding at votes could be prevented. Raising awareness about .Vote domains involves educating the public about the significance of this domain extension in promoting civic participation and election transparency. Strategies may include online campaigns, partnerships with civic organizations, and outreach efforts to inform individuals, businesses, and political entities about the benefits of using .Vote domains for trustworthy and accessible election-related websites. Additionally, collaborating with registrars and domain industry stakeholders to offer incentives or discounts for .Vote domain registrations can further incentivize its adoption, contributing to the broader goal of fostering informed and engaged citizens in the democratic process.

How online media are creating a new space and a new set of challenges for the conduct of political debate

Political economy analysis suggests “democracy” is tolerated by big business as long as real control is off-limits to popular deliberation
Leaps in Logic?
An idealized view of the democratizing power of the Internet is a hopeful prediction; however, this requires leaps in logic:
Internet is no less susceptible to being manipulated by political parties and sectional interest groups than the current system
Issues under consideration in politics online are still determined by those in power positions and do not necessarily address key issues for a broader community
The control of sites by those who wish to promote their own interests will greatly diminish the credibility of the polling results within political circles

This Research Study titled effectiveness Of INEC communication awareness Strategies in the 2023 general elections. A study of the South South residents of Nigeria. Elections in Nigeria and Foreign Democratic Assistance, 2015 -2019 Key Lesson...ijtsrd
This paper focuses on elections and foreign democracy assistance to Nigeria in 2015-2019 Key lessons and challenges. The study combined historical and descriptive research methods. While the historical design provided a guide into Nigeria’s democratic journey, the descriptive method helped us explain clearly these impeding factors that have hindered foreign democratic assistance from falling short of the desired standard in the country. The data was gathered through secondary sources. The realistic theory of change by Anderson, a modification of Carols 1972 change model theory, was used as the framework of analysis. The study revealed that 1 Nigeria received democratic assistance between 2015 and 2019 from the US, UK, EU, and other major international partners engaging in democratic promotion. 2 In spite of billions of dollars received as foreign democratic assistance, her political development has remained gloomy. 3 International promoters of democracy in Nigeria have clearly defined objectives with their philanthropic and international assistance for democratic transition, but in a bid to promote democracy, in the context of globalization promoting a free market economy and favourable investment opportunities for their multinational corporations. Lastly, the result shows some key lessons and implications that represent the immediate conclusions and recommendations of this study, such as that, for FDA to be successful, democratisation processes need to be driven from within and supported by at least some key domestic actors, achieve a balance between different goals, connect with the grass roots level, incorporate civil society, and so on. Thus, the election violence, rigging, manipulation, and imposition of candidates that characterised Nigerian elections do not in any way relate to or correlate with foreign democratic assistance objectives. Elections
Election and the policies have been the most central theme for creating the business environment in any country. Many investors are very keen on systems that every country is building for the creation of the business. The positive impacts on business mean that the governments are creating fewer bottleneck rules and giving a smooth flow of business operation. The policies that the governments are mainly based on the operational permits that the governments are trying to make them cheaper and functional.
The importance of voting
The voting importance in many American states defines the constitutional rights of the citizens. Elections and voting are part of the country's bill of rights that citizens have to practice. The 19th amendment of 1920 states that all citizens have got equal rights to vote and continue to make a continuous constitution of the protection of their rights; The amendment also has made the banning of the discriminatory election as an offense; hence everyone has to vote. The practice of voting enables people to choose their leader without any manipulation. The people can determine the leader who has confidence with him or her. Voting allows people to make a development of the government that is operational that can implement the favorable policies; to everyone and the investors (Maisel, 2016). Voting also will enable people to make a practice of their democratic rights. The development of sound policies also ensures the security of the citizens. The security of the citizens is ensured through policies such as gun policies that ensure that citizens do not effortlessly acquire them.
Voting, on the other part, also ensures that citizens can remove those leaders that have got bad diplomatic relations with other countries. The removal of the leaders that practice dictatorial leadership is a significant decision that impacts the lives of many people and business investors. Business investors are attracted by the governments where decision and design through the majority's views and are not interfered by any people on the government has been known that dictators have been nationalizing private companies, hence frustrating investors (Maisel, 2013).
Why is it important to know research on what the candidate's platforms and positions are?
The importance of political policies and manifestos plays a crucial role in the candidate's election. The party initiates the party manifesto hence making the definition of the type of the candidate what they can choose what they can do.IN Austria's 2013 election, the formation of the multiparty system allowed the.

An astonishing, first-of-its-kind, report by the NYT assessing damage in Ukraine. Even if the war ends tomorrow, in many places there will be nothing to go back to.
In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said. With the emergence of LLMs, which can generate fluent text without the need for specialized modules to handle grammar or semantic coherence, the need for linguistic expertise in NLP is being questioned.
