Cary Lin was an international student in the professor's Essentials of Business class in 2013-2014. The professor was impressed with Cary's eagerness to learn about business and assimilate into the new academic environment. Cary actively participated in class and helped with events, showing strong academic performance and a desire to continuously improve. The professor believes Cary will be a great role model as an international ambassador and recommends him highly.
1. January 23, 2015,
To Whom it May Concern,
I am honored to write in support of one of my best international students, Mr. Jianfeng Lin (or Cary,
as he goes by his English name) who for the academic year of 2013-2014, was part of my Essentials
of Business - Foundations Class (MGMT1051 & MGMT1052 - Fast Track I & II.)
I can honestly say that Cary's visible hunger to learn and get involved struck me right from the
beginning, especially coming from an international student in his first year of academics in the US.
His desire to assimilate as much as possible, get acquainted with the business lingo and conduct, his
active participation in and outside of the classroom environment, and last but not least, his
approachable nature and his candor are simply outstanding.
Through the amazing adaptation and flourishing period as a student facing completely new
challenges as part of his new academic and social environments, I vouch for Mr. Lin’s personal
growth, and that he continues to strive to excel and help others. I believe his strong academic
conduct combined with his desire to continuously reach new heights will greatly benefit any program
seeking best performance - personality, academic achievement and social leadership.
He never ceased to reach out to me continuously, throughout and after the end of the academic
year, with questions about becoming a successful businessman, sharing ideas, based on his desire to
continuously achieve new heights and excel at all levels, personally and academically. He helped me
at many occasions, during several UC events with his amazing photography skills. I also had the
honor and pleasure to meet his family in Guangzhou, during one of my last trips to China.
With all confidence I can say he will make a great example and role model, a true UC international
ambassador. Please call or email me should additional comments or information be required.
Thank you for the opportunity of correspondence.
Sincerely,
Catalin Macarie, MSME, MSELOC
