There are several types of hearing aids: BTE (Behind-the-Ear) aids fit into a mold of the outer ear and ear canal and can be used for all levels of hearing loss. ITE (In-the-Ear) aids are built individually for each user and house components inside the ear. ITC (In-the-Canal) aids are smaller than ITE aids and can adapt to medium hearing losses. CIC (Completely-in-Canal) aids fit deepest in the ear canal and are not suitable for severe hearing losses. RITE (Receiver-in-the-Ear) aids are the most modern, comfortable and invisible option and can adapt to certain hearing losses

theexternalauditory canal. Themoldisconnectedtotheheadsetthrough a

ispreferredwhentoadapthearinglossesthatrequiremuchamplification. There are
analog and digital BTEs.
IntraatrialHeadset (ITE = in theear)
Thismodelisbuiltindividuallyforeachuserbeingexternalstructure as a
piecemadeonthecavity of theear and thefirstthird of theear canal. In
thiswayvariouscomponents are housed intraauricular electronichearingaid. It
can be adapted in hearinglossrequiringhighamplification. There are analog and
digital-earheadphones.
ITE (ITC = In the canal)
Thismodelisanoutgrowth of previoussearches and
makeitsmallerusingexternalstructureisobtainedonlywith a
moldmeasuringtheouterthird of theear canal. Thesemodel are less visible and

hearingaids are analog and digital.
Inner-ear (CIC = Complete in channel)
Bettereventhanthelast and deepestplacement. In many cases
itisconstructedwith a thinplasticwiretoremoveit.
Notsuitablefordemandinghearingloss. There are alsoanalog and digital models.
Open EarHearingAid (RITE = Receiver in theear)
Thisisthemostmodern, comfortable and invisible tothehearingaids. Can be
adaptedto a certainhearinglossrequiringamplification. Are digital (no analog) so
ensuregreatsoundquality.
