In the future, blockchain technologies will integrate with AI and IoT, allowing machines to directly exchange assets like money and property. For example, a car could negotiate insurance prices with a company based on sensor data. Klaytn is an enterprise-grade blockchain platform that provides a hybrid public-private solution and APIs to easily integrate enterprises. It has over 30 members in its Governance Council and 70 service partners building applications with over 16 ecosystem partners and 26 investors. The goal is to make blockchain widely adopted through usable applications and wallets.

Technology

In the future, true blockchain or “blockchain complete” will have the potential to transform industries, and eventually the
economy, as complementary technologies such as AI and the IoT begin to integrate alongside blockchain. This expands the
type of participants to include machines, which will be able to exchange a variety of assets — from money to real estate. For
example, a car would be able to negotiate insurance prices directly with the insurance company based on data gathered by
its sensors.

To succeed as a digital business, companies are adopting private Interconnection at accelerated rates to build an underlying digital-ready infrastructure. The Global Interconnection Index (the GXI) Volume 2, a market study recently published by Equinix, analyzes global Interconnection—the direct and private traffic exchange between businesses. The GXI projects that Asia-Pacific (AP) businesses will further scale and expand their digital transformation by harnessing Interconnection Bandwidth—the total capacity provisioned to privately and directly exchange traffic with a diverse set of participants at distributed IT exchange points. By 2021, the GXI predicts installed Interconnection Bandwidth capacity will grow in the AP region to 2,220+ Terabits per second (Tbps), second to the Interconnection volume expected in the U.S. Asia-Pacific is expected to realize a 51% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in Interconnection Bandwidth between 2017 and 2021, contributing more than 27% of the global capacity.

Tineola: Taking A Bite Out of Enterprise Blockchain

"Blockchain adaptation has reached a fever pitch, andthe community is late to the game of securing these platforms against attack. With the open source community enamored with the success of Ethereum, the enterprise community has been quietly building the next generation of distributed trustless applications on permissioned blockchain technologies. As of early 2018, an estimated half of these blockchain projects relied on the Hyperledger Fabric platform. In this talk we will discuss tools and techniques attackers can use to target Fabric. To this end we are demoing and releasing a new attack suite, Tineola, capable of performing network reconnaissance of a Hyperledger deployment, adding evil network peers to this deployment, using existing trusted peers for lateral network movement with reverse shells, and fuzzing application code deployed on Fabric. As George Orwell said: ""Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past."" This talk will demonstrate how a sufficiently armed red team can modify the blockchain past to control our digital future."

Klaytn 성능 향상 대장정 - 1000만 account 극복기 블록체인은 네트워크 상에서 상태가 합의를 이루고 복제되어야하는 제한 조건 때문에 전통적인 데이터베이스에 비해 떨어지는 성능을 보인다. 또한 Klaytn에서는 각 어카운트의 정보를 저장하기 위해 Merkle Partricia Trie를 사용하는데, Merkle Partricia Trie의 성능은 전체 어카운트 개수가 늘어날수록 떨어진다. 1000만개 이상의 어카운트가 존재할 때에도 성능 저하를 최소화 하기 위해 1) 일반적인 성능 향상과 더불어 2) 어카운트 개수 증가에 의한 성능 저하를 최소화하는 작업을 동시에 진행하였다. 본 세션에서는 블록체인의 성능 병목 구간에 대한 설명과 더불어 1) Consensus Layer, 2) In-memory Layer, 3) Persistent Layer 의 각 레이어 별로 적용한 최적화 기법들, 그리고 그 사이에 마주친 문제들에 대해 공유하는 시간을 갖는다.

ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management. The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM). zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex Proofs

This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second). Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing

Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process. In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds. - These are slides of the talk given at IEEE International Conference on Software Testing Verification and Validation Workshop, ICSTW 2022.
