Youth Media Programs
Our Youth Media Programs expanded and grew in 2013 to provide more opportuni es for youth to
contribute to our informa on ecosystem. We launched a partnership with SafeLaunch to help
coordinate the Santa Barbara Teen News Network Program. This program is a youth-led program
with the teens producing and direc ng a local news program.
TVSB operated a series of Summer Youth Media Workshops to provide the opportunity for youth to
learn how to produce a studio-based television program, create digital media stories, and develop
public service announcements.
The TVSB Internship Program provided opportuni es for area college and high school students to
gain hands-on experience and media produc on training. The interns ac vely work on and produce
local media content. Interns include students from UCSB, SBCC, An och University SB, and Santa
Barbara High School.
TV Santa Barbara also hosted five students from La Cuesta High School, providing them with media
training and produc on experience over the course of a semester.
