Tulum, Mexico is an ancient walled city located on the Caribbean coast. It can only be accessed through a thick rainforest via a mile-long path from the drop-off point. The city is surrounded by an 8-foot wall with three small openings and contains several structures within, including a main temple, plaza, and observatory. However, many of the buildings are in poor condition due to weathering from the coastal location.

- 2. Getting there • There was a path cut through the rain forest, which was very thick in vegetation. • It was a mile walk from where our buses dropped us off to the walled city • Tulum is surrounded by an 8 ft. wall with only 3 small openings. 2 2
- 9. Buildings • Tulum is on the Caribbean coast and will be hit by bad weather, therefore the city is in bad shape and you can not climb on any of the buildings. • The plaza and main temple is in the next picture, with the observatory off to the left. 9 9
- 13. The city • The city is on the coast and you can swim in the Caribbean Sea, just like the Mayans did over a thousand years ago. • Many, many lizards on the grounds
