Tui na is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy that uses hands-on body treatment and martial art principles to balance the body's chi and energy flow according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practitioner will brush, knead, roll, press, and rub between joints to open chi pathways and relax muscles. Similar massage techniques have been used in China since at least 1700 BC during the Shang Dynasty to treat infants and digestive issues according to ancient texts.
