Ecuador is located in South America. It is north of Peru and south
of Colombia. It is considered to have one of the most diverse
ecosystems in the world. We will be north of Quito in the highland
Andes of Ecuador. It is the home to a large number of indigenous
people whose second language is Spanish.

There is much symbolism in the Ecuadorean flag. Two things to
note. The bird is a condor and the snow capped mountain is
Chimborazo. It is the highest mountain in Ecuador at over 20,000
feet. Ecuador has 10 mountains over 16,000 feet.

Otavolo is famous for its amazing
scenery, its indigenous culture and one
of the best markets in all of Latin
America.

We will be rebuilding the lab at this
school in Quinchinche. We are hoping
to use the old computers at another site

center sleeping in sleeping bags working
in cooking and cleaning teams and in
home stays with local families.

There will outings to nearby places
including a waterfall and a large
volcanic lake.

Besides the great crafts market we will also visit
an animal market where you might see
someone buying a cow or catching and taking
home a pig.

If the soccer team is in town, we can
go to a game.

We will spend at least one day in the capital city
of Quito. We will climb the angel that overlooks
the city and weather permitting we go up a lift
to over 13,000 feet to view the volcanos
surrounding Quito.

you will have things to do as a group
before the trip.

You need a passport that will be good
until February 15, 2017. If you don’t
have one, the first thing you need to do
is apply. If you need help, let us know.

You will be assigned special job for the trip.
Someone will be the photographer. Somebody
else will be in charge of organizing the tubs
both the packing and the shipping.

learn to network the computers and
to crimp internet cable.

The trip fees don’t cover the whole trip
so will need to raise lots of money . We
will do this by writing letters. We may
have to do other fund raisers as well.

we get close to leaving.

tubs. You can put some things in the
tubs such as a sleeping bag. You will
have only one carry on.

to get up really early to leave. It might
