Triac Based Automatic Voltage Stabilizer
 Fluctuation in electric supply and low line voltage are some
of the major problems in our country. When there is a low
line voltages the equipment may demand more current and
reaches its breakdown region or low voltage from a certain
level equipment may fail to function. Voltage Stabilizer is an
excellent product, to manage these type of problems. Using
stabilizer with electrical appliances their operation do not
interrupt on these issues.
 We are going to design a triac based automatic voltage
stabilizer to resolve these problems. It will automatically
maintain a required voltage level, and also to deal with the
problems of power fluctuation (spike and dip ) that affect our
equipments. It will have fast response and silent operation
and better performance than conventional relay based
stabilizers.
 Triac Based Automatic Voltage Stabilizer will be designed
for Home and industrial Devices to provide required supply
voltage without any fluctuation.
 TRIAC Based voltage Stabilizer will be designed for
refrigerator (room size) using microcontroller. When the line
voltage are varying, voltage stabilizer will give the required
supply voltage.
 Triac Based Voltage stabilizer will automatically control the
line voltage such as fluctuation in line voltage and also
provides over voltage protection, overload protection and
surge current protection.
 Relay Based Voltage Stabilizer:
◦ The response time of Relay based voltage stabilizer is
low.
◦ Noisy operation
◦ Sparking due to contacts of relay (makes and breaks)
 Servo Voltage Stabilizer:
◦ The response time of Servo voltage stabilizer is lower
then relay based voltage stabilizer.
◦ When line voltages are high enough then normal supply
voltages, the equipment may damage before the action
of stabilizer due to slower response.
 Reduce Response time (less than 200ms).
 There will be no Arcing and Sparking as Traics are
used instead of relays.
 Digital Display for over loading ,short circuit, input
output voltage level display.
 Deep freezers and air conditioning systems.
 It can also be designed for other devices like, Laboratory
Equipment.
 Other features include easy usage, low maintenance,
digital display, over load protection, over voltage
protection, solution of fluctuation problems.
 Response time is high as compared to other stabilizers.
 The stabilizer protects the life of the equipment from
severe voltage fluctuations.
 It can work in a voltage variation limit of 140V-240V.
 Automatically maintain a required voltage level.
 Manual operation facility can be implemented if desired.
 Response time is fast.
 Over voltage and under voltage indicators.
 There is a reset button which is used when there will be
fluctuation in voltage occurs and becomes fault in our
device.
 Suitable for refrigerators with steady state current
requirement of up to 3.0 A
