ITFT- Dbms
A database management system (DBMS) is a software system that allows users to define, create, maintain and control access to a database. A DBMS organizes data into tables with rows and columns to allow for storage, retrieval, deletion and updating of data. Some examples of DBMS include MySQL, Microsoft Access, SQL Server and Oracle. The ultimate purpose of a DBMS is to transform data into information and knowledge to enable action.
ITFT - Web security
The Internet Architecture Board (IAB) supervises the technical development of the internet. Originally founded by the US Department of Defense, it was later named the IAB and placed under the Internet Society (ISOC), an international organization that promotes internet usage. ISOC has over 100 organizational and 28,000 individual members in over 80 chapters worldwide.
ITFT - Search engine
Search engines are websites that allow users to search for information on the internet. To get a website listed on search engines, it must be submitted directly to them. This process can take up to 3 months. Key steps to optimize a website for search engines include determining relevant keywords, submitting the site to directories, getting backlinks, optimizing web pages to include keywords, and submitting to search engine spiders. The top search engines that represent most search traffic are Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, and Altavista. Monitoring website analytics and search engine rankings is important for tracking optimization efforts.
ITFT - Oops
Object-oriented programming (OOP) considers programming to simulate real-world objects. It helps build efficient software by modeling concepts like classes, objects, inheritance, interfaces, and encapsulation. A class defines common attributes and behaviors, while an object is a specific instance of a class. Inheritance allows classes to inherit attributes and behaviors from other classes. Interfaces contain abstract methods that classes implement. Packages organize related classes, while encapsulation restricts access to an object's internal data and methods.
ITFT - Number system
The document discusses different number systems including decimal, binary, octal, and hexadecimal. It explains that in a positional number system, the value of each digit depends on its position, with the rightmost being the ones place and each place to the left representing higher powers of the base. For decimal, the base is 10 with digits 0-9. Binary uses only 0s and 1s with a base of 2. Octal uses digits 0-7 with a base of 8. Hexadecimal uses digits 0-9 and A-F, with a base of 16. Converting between number systems involves determining the place value of each digit and summing the products of each digit and its place value.
