Training at Missouri Sheriffs' Association
1.
2. Dr. Robert O'Block, founder of the American College
of Forensic Examiners Institute (ACFEI), worked as a
law enforcement officer to pay for his college tuition.
Dr. Robert O'Block built on his law enforcement
experience when he completed the 700-hour Basic
Law Enforcement Training Course through the
Missouri Sheriffs' Association (MSATA).
MSATA takes its role in the education and proper
training of law enforcement officers seriously. State-
licensed, MSATA boasts training for all levels of
officers, including basic peace officer training,
continuing education, and the comprehensive Basic
Law Enforcement Training Course.
3. In the last four years, over 31,000 Missouri peace officers
have trained at MSATA.
Training courses cover hands-on fundamentals, but also
extend to practical concerns. In addition to learning how
to conduct arrests and supervise inmates, students are
taught to fill out reports and handle paralyzing situations,
such as shooters who take a school hostage.
MSATA hires qualified instructors that reinforce the
organization's state-certified level of education. All
instructors are either active in the field of law enforcement
or have since retired, and each is licensed by the Peace
Officers Standards and Training.
