2. TUCC was founded in 1970.
Prasanta Das Gupta was the founding
general secretary of TUCC.
Prior to the Forward Bloc had belonged
to the United Trade Union Congress.
TUCC is mainly based in the state of
West Bengal.
Krishi Shramil Union(Agricultural Labour
Union) is affiliated to TUCC.
TUCC is affiliated to the World Federation of
Trade Union.
3. 1980:
The 1980 TUCC claimed to have 2,72,779 members in 182
affiliated unions.
The ministry of Labour verified 65affiliated unions with a combined
membership of 1,23,048.
1995:
The 1995 TUCC was the smallest of the ten Central Trade Union
Organization recognized by the Indian Ministry of Labour, counting 65
affiliated unions.
2002:
TUCC had 7,37,760 members, out of whom 5,54,207 were
agricultural or rural workers.
2013:
G.R.Shivasanker was the president of TUCC. The general secretary
is Nripendra Kumar Mahto.
4. The twelve-point charter of demands placed
before the union government by the TUCC.
Urgent measures for containing price-rise through the
universalization of public distribution system and banning
speculative trade in the commodity markets.
Concrete measures for employment generation.
Strict enforcement of all basic labour laws without any
exception or exemption and stringent punitive measures for
violation of labour laws.
Universal social security cover for all workers.
Minimum wages of not less than Rs 18,000/- per month with
provisions of indexation.
Assured enhanced pension not less than Rs.3,000/- p.m. for the
entire working population.
5. Stoppage of disinvestment in central/public sector
undertakings.
Stoppage of contractorization in permanent perennial work and
payment of the same wage and benefits for contract workers as
regular workers equal worK.
Removal of all ceilings on payment and eligibility of bonus,
provident fund, increase the quantum of gratuity.
Compulsory registration of trade unions within a period of 45
days from the date of submitting application and immediate
ratification of ILO Conventions 87 and 98.
No Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in railways, defense and
other strategic and core sectors.
No unilateral amendments to labour laws.
7. T.U.C.C. Flag
The flag of the T.U.C.C. shall be one and half time of its width. There shall be a
leaping tiger on the flag with the tiger facing on the top of pole.
At the right top of the flag there shall be crossed hammer and sickle, just above
the tiger’s tail. At the left side of left side of the flag T.U.C.C. shall be printed in block
letter vertically. The body of the tiger shall be in yellow and black, Hammer and sickle
shall be in white.
Amendments of Constitution & Bye Laws.
The constitution may be amended by 2/3rd majority of the delegates present
and voting in the National Conference provided that their number is not less than 10% of
the total number of delegates and they must be from 10 member organisations.
The Central Committee may from time, make such bye-laws as are necessary
to give effect to the constitution without contradicting the real spirit of it and form the
T.U.C.C. efficiently, provided that no basic laws are contradicted.

9. To watch, Promote, safeguard, the interests, rights, and privileges of the
workers in all matter’ such as social, cultural, economic and political.
Establish study centres /trusts to ensure training and education to its
members.
Ensure workers participation in Management.
To co – ordinate the activities of the trade Unions affiliated to the T.U.C.C.
Conduct movement of collective Bargaining.
To fight against all forms of harassment on atrocities against women at
their place of work.
To bring about unity of the working class in the trade union movement.
To work in close co-operation with the working class organization of
different countries to foster the idea of international working class unity.
10. National Conference:
National conference shall be highest and supreme policy making body of
T.U.C.C.
Delegates of the National Conference shall be elected by the state
Conference.
All member organizations shall participate in the conference through their
delegation whose representation shall be one delegation for 100
memberships or above 50 or as decided by the central Committee.
A National Council shall be elected / selected in the National conference
which consists of not more than 150 members including at least one
member from all functioning federations of T.U.C.C.
Delegates present in the conference shall be eligible to participate in the
election of National Council and central Committee.
11. National Council and Central Committee of T.U.C.C. shall be
elected in the National Conference.
The T.U.C.C. shall hold National Conference once in three
years. However, special conference shall be organized with the
approval of Central Committee on exigent circumstances.
National Council:
National Council shall be policy making body in between two
National Conferences.
National Council shall be policy making body in between two

Vacancies in the Central Committee/Secretariat shall be filled
up by National Council.
12. Trade unions to go on strike on May 22 to
protest against labour laws suspension
While Uttar Pradesh has suspended major labour laws,
Madhya Pradesh has tweaked some rules amid the
lockdown to spur economic activities
The ten central trade unions that issued the joint
statement are INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC,
TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF and UTUC
