It applies to government, non-government, and private organizations. It mandates accessibility standards and timelines for infrastructure and services, and establishes implementing mechanisms like Disability Commissioner's Offices and Special Courts to handle disability rights violations. The researcher aims to study opportunities and policies under the new Act regarding health, education, employment and present this to organizations assisting people with disabilities.

2. The RPWD Act was enacted in December 2016. It promotes and protects the rights and
dignity of people with disabilities in various aspects of life – educational, social, legal,
economic, cultural and political. It applies to government, non government and private
organizations. It has mandates and timelines for establishments to ensure accessibility of
infrastructure and services. It has implementing mechanisms like Disability Commissioner’s
Offices at the Centre and State level, District Committees, Boards and Committees for
planning and monitoring the implementation of the Act, Special Courts at District level and so
on. It has penalties in case of violation of any provisions of the Act.

5. The RPWD Act 2016 also provides for creating institutional infrastructure to support
the needs of persons with disabilities. Setting up of Special Courts in each district
has been mandated. These courts will handle the cases related to the violation of
rights of disabled people. The researcher has taken the topic to study the
opportunities and the new policies and schemes with regards to persons with
disability in the sector of health, education, employement and other sectors. The
researcher wants to present the term paper into different organization which works
with persons with diasabilities so that they get access to the information directly.
