This document provides instructions for ranking and scoring multiple shampoo samples based on various tests to determine the best overall shampoo. It describes: 1) Using a 1-6 ranking scale to score each shampoo on different tests like pH, foam height, foam retention, viscosity, and dirt dispersion, with 6 being the highest score. 2) In the case of ties, the tied shampoos all receive the same score and the next shampoo skips points. 3) Calculating a total rank score for each shampoo by adding up the scores from each test, with the highest total being the best overall. 4) Comparing the best overall shampoo to its

2. How to rank things:
1. You will use a ranking scale from 1-6 with
6 being the best. (If you included a bonus
shampoo 7 is best!)
2. Your will rank each of the tests we ran.
3. You will put these numbers next to the
shampoo/ or in the comment section.
4. Put this on each draft page

1. The BEST is the closest to a pH of 72. give that sample (A-F) 6 points.
3. Mark this on the draft sheet.
4. Give the next closest to a pH of 7 a 5,
then next a 4 and so on.

5. In the case of a tie…..
In the case of a tie, the ties all get the
same number of points,
then you skip the next number of points.
E.g. if there are 3 tied for best, they all
get 6’s, and the next best gets a 3
(skipping 4 and 5).

6. For foamEach test is separate.
For foam HEIGHT- bigger is better!
Remember: best gets the highest score- 6

8. Viscosity
For viscosity, the slowest is the best!
(the highest number of seconds)

9. Dirt Dispersion
The shampoos observed to be
clear get the 6 points,
These points, however, go
down in the cases of a tie.

10. And finally….
Add up each of the rows and total.
This should give you a total rank of
between 1 and 30
(1 and 35 for those using a bonus
shampoo)
The highest score is the best overall!!!!!
