2. The reason I have chosen this image is because the
main focus is the tartan shirt; it creates and fits with
the ideas of ‘grunge’.
The model has direct address and their pose
enables the focus of the tartan shirt. There is a
narrow depth of field as the model is all in focus.
The hairstyle of the model is quite messy as if it’s a
‘I don’t care’ attitude; this is reinforced by the
tartan shirt not being buttoned up.
The issue with this image is the lighting; the photo
was taken during the evening so the natural light
gradually grew darker creating a dark/blue filter
within the image.

3. This image is a potential photograph for the fashion
spread as the focus and eye-catching aspect is the
clothing of the model.
The model doesn’t have direct address, however in
my opinion it doesn’t really matter as the main focus
is the clothing – however the model is in focus as it
is a narrow depth of field.
The problem is the lighting as it was taken during
late evening so there was limited amount of light; on
the other hand, it compliments the idea of ‘grunge’.

4. This image is in my top five because it has a sense
of action – I asked the model to walk towards me
whilst I took continuous images of them; I made
sure the shutter speed was fairly high.
There is selective focus, but not n the model,
instead the background is focused making the
background the main focus of the image
Again the lighting was limited as the model’s
clothing looks darker.
The model does not have direct address and also
the positioning of the model isn’t centred.

5. This is a potential image as the pose of the model
compliments the idea of grunge and compliments
the idea of it – giving off attitude. They also have
direct address with the audience which makes the
posture more powerful.
The lighting is too dark to use – shadowing on the
face of the model.

6. This image could also be used as it has a sense of
action – asking the model to walk towards the
camera whilst I take a number of shots.
The lighting is too dark across the right side of the
image, however it has an essence of grunge; gritty,
dirty etc.
The model doesn’t have direct address as they are
looking slightly off to the right.
There is a broad depth of field as the whole image
is in focus so there isn’t any selective focus.
