This document defines terrorism and outlines its causes and prevention. Terrorism is defined as unlawful violence against people or property to intimidate for political or social goals. While some claim certain violence is justified, there is a universal standard defining terrorism. Attacks target civilians, governments, economies, and information systems. Precipitants include charismatic leaders and provocative events. Preconditions include lack of democracy, weak states, extremist ideologies, and social injustice. Prevention involves education to understand differences, surveillance, and protecting citizens.
Terrorism is described as a criminal act that uses violence, fear and intimidation to draw attention to a political or worldwide cause. It often targets civilians and aims to influence a stronger opponent. Common tactics include bombings and attacks on public areas. Examples given are the 9/11 attacks and the Boston Marathon bombing. Strengthened security measures have been a response to modern terrorism threats.
This document discusses definitions of terrorism from various government and international organizations. It notes that there is no universally agreed upon definition. The US Department of Defense, FBI, and Department of State each have their own definitions that focus on unlawful violence or threats of violence intended to create fear and coerce for political, religious or ideological goals. The UN and British government also have their own definitions. The document examines key elements of terrorism, such as it being a tactic to influence audiences beyond the immediate victims, and how terrorists seek publicity through violence. Experts note challenges in defining terrorism given its politically charged nature.
There is no universally agreed upon definition of terrorism. It is a contested concept that depends on political and legal perspectives. Terrorism involves the unlawful use of violence and intimidation for political, religious, or ideological aims. It can be classified as either state terrorism, which is undertaken by or on behalf of governments, or non-state terrorism committed by non-state actors. The causes of terrorism are often related to nationalism, seeking independence through violence; politics, opposing oppressive governments; religion, especially religious extremism; and other factors like poverty, deprivation, and discrimination.
Terrorism involves creating fear through violence to further political, religious, or ideological goals. It has ancient origins but the modern concept emerged during the French Revolution. Common terrorist acts are hijackings, bombings, mass shootings, assassinations, and government takeovers. ISIS is a powerful and brutal terrorist group that has seized large areas of the Middle East and claimed responsibility for attacks worldwide.

This document summarizes research on urban gangs in Haiti. It finds that while international organizations view the gangs as criminal, Haitians see them more as political or community groups. Through interviews with gang members and residents, the research aims to better understand the gangs' composition, activities, and motivations. It finds that rank-and-file members of both gangs and former military insurgent groups often join for similar reasons like improving their lives, and come from similar backgrounds involving family violence. However, gang members believe more that their own actions can influence events, while former military members feel events are beyond their control. The research suggests reexamining assumptions about Haiti's gangs.
The document discusses various aspects of political culture and participation. It defines political culture as patterns of orientations towards political systems expressed through beliefs, symbols and values. It notes different components and types of political culture. The theory talks about the relationship between minority and majority of people and how they express themselves. It proves minority people keep silent on their views on any particular subject.
Terrorism is an historical as well as a universal phenomenon; has been practiced by every type of organisation, religious or non-religious, right-wing or left-wing.Consequently, the reasons for the terrorist activity and the identity of those who carry out these acts are always subject to the context, time and place.Unfortunately, there is no consensus on its accurate definition. More than one hundred definitions in the field; one country’s terrorists are other country’s freedom fighters. Rather than seeking the causes of terrorism itself, a better approach is to determine the conditions that make terror possible or likely.Stopping violence is rarely simple or easy. Only time and commitment by a majority of the parties involved can resolve a conflict. Keeping in view the multidimensional nature of terrorism, we must adopt a long term holistic and comprehensive approach for its eradication.

This document discusses the history of terrorism in Pakistan. It notes that terrorism became a prominent tool for political agendas in the late 1960s, used by Palestinians. Terrorism in Pakistan has significantly increased since 2001, with over 35,000 Pakistanis killed by 2009. After the US invasion of Afghanistan, al-Qaeda and Taliban sought refuge in Pakistan's tribal areas. Structural flaws in the tribal regions allowed militant groups like the Taliban to operate and offer parallel security/judicial systems. Religiously motivated terrorism poses a major threat today from groups drawing inspiration from Islam, Christianity, and other religions. Militant groups in Pakistan also have sectarian agendas and connections to international terrorist organizations.

Fillet joints can be transverse or parallel and the document explains how to calculate the strengths of each type. Several example problems are also included showing how to calculate weld sizes for butt and fillet joints subjected to tensile, shear, bending, and eccentric loads.
The document provides an overview of realism as a theory of international relations. It discusses classical realism focusing on thinkers like Thucydides, Machiavelli, Hobbes, and Morgenthau who saw states primarily pursuing power in an anarchic system. It also covers neo-realism of Waltz who analyzed how the distribution of power among states and different systems of polarity (unipolar, bipolar, multipolar) impact international relations. A key concept for neo-realists is the balance of power where states form alliances to balance more powerful states or coalitions. The prisoner's dilemma is used as a game theory example of why cooperation can be difficult due to lack of trust among states as real

This document defines terrorism and discusses its causes and impacts. Terrorism is defined by the FBI and US Department of Defense as the unlawful use or threat of violence against people or property to intimidate for political goals. It discusses two types of terrorism: national (directed internally without foreign influence) and international (foreign-based or directed). Causes mentioned include social/political injustice, belief that violence achieves goals, religion, illiteracy, and injustice. Impacts involve economic losses from death/damage, societal fear and suspicion, and complicated international politics. Solutions proposed are education to understand cultural differences, eliminating root causes like funding sources, and addressing injustices that radicalize individuals.

Liberalism has profoundly shaped modern societies through its core beliefs of political freedom, democracy, individual liberty and equality before the law. After the Cold War, some believed liberal democracy and capitalism had triumphed globally as the final form of human government. However, realists argue that nation-states remain the most powerful actors in international relations and prioritize their own security over other concerns like free trade or human rights. While liberals see globalization and institutions as increasing cooperation, realists are skeptical that anarchy and self-interest do not allow states to fully cooperate or limit their sovereignty.
This document provides an overview of terrorism including its origins, meaning, history and types. It discusses how the term terrorism originated from Old French and Latin referring to great fear or terror. Terrorism is defined as the systematic use of violence or threats to coerce others. The document traces the history of terrorism back to first century Jewish groups and its use to describe the Jacobins during the French Revolution. It then outlines six categories of terrorism and provides examples of well-known terrorist groups, the aims of terrorists, and issues around terrorism and Islam and Azerbaijan. The document concludes with descriptions of counter-terrorism approaches, both non-military and military.
The document discusses balance of power theory, a realist international relations theory. According to the theory, national security is strengthened when military power is distributed so that no single state can dominate others. If one state becomes stronger, it may attack weaker neighbors, prompting threatened states to form defensive coalitions. When faced with an external threat, states can counter through balancing, bandwagoning, buck-passing, or bloodletting. Balancing involves increasing one's own military capabilities or forming alliances to counter a rising power. Bandwagoning means aligning with the stronger power, while buck-passing passes responsibility for countering the threat to another state. Bloodletting causes rivals to engage in prolonged conflict while remaining neutral.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

2. 1. Why do you want this testing coordinator job?
Again, companies want to hire people
who are passionate about the job, so you
should have a great answer about why
you want the position. (And if you don't?
You probably should apply elsewhere.)
First, identify a couple of key factors that
make the role a great fit for you (e.g., “I
love customer support because I love the
constant human interaction and the
satisfaction that comes from helping
someone solve a problem"), then share
why you love the company (e.g., “I’ve
always been passionate about education,
and I think you guys are doing great
things, so I want to be a part of it”).

3. 2. What have you learned from mistakes on the testing
coordinator job?
Candidates without specific examples often
do not seem credible. However, the example
shared should be fairly inconsequential,
unintentional, and a learned lesson should
be gleaned from it. Moving ahead without
group assistance while assigned to a group
project meant to be collaborative is a good
example.

4. 3. What challenges are you looking for in this testing
coordinator position?
A typical interview question to determine what you
are looking for your in next job, and whether you
would be a good fit for the position being hired for,
is "What challenges are you looking for in a
position?"
The best way to answer questions about the
challenges you are seeking is to discuss how you
would like to be able to effectively utilize your
skills and experience if you were hired for the job.
You can also mention that you are motivated by
challenges, have the ability to effectively meet
challenges, and have the flexibility and skills
necessary to handle a challenging job.
You can continue by describing specific examples
of challenges you have met and goals you have
achieved in the past.

5. 4. Describe a typical work week for testing coordinator
position?
Interviewers expect a candidate for employment to
discuss what they do while they are working in
detail. Before you answer, consider the position
you are applying for and how your current or past
positions relate to it. The more you can connect
your past experience with the job opening, the
more successful you will be at answering the
questions.
It should be obvious that it's not a good idea talk
about non-work related activities that you do on
company time, but, I've had applicants tell me how
they are often late because they have to drive a
child to school or like to take a long lunch break to
work at the gym.
Keep your answers focused on work and show the
interviewer that you're organized ("The first thing I
do on Monday morning is check my voicemail and
email, then I prioritize my activities for the week.")
and efficient.

6. 5. What is your biggest weakness?
No one likes to answer this question because it
requires a very delicate balance. You simply can’t
lie and say you don’t have one; you can’t trick the
interviewer by offering up a personal weakness
that is really a strength (“Sometimes, I work too
much and don’t maintain a work-life balance.”);
and you shouldn’t be so honest that you throw
yourself under the bus (“I’m not a morning person
so I’m working on getting to the office on time.”)
Think of a small flaw like “I sometimes get
sidetracked by small details”, “I am occasionally
not as patient as I should be with subordinates or
co-workers who do not understand my ideas”, or “I
am still somewhat nervous and uncomfortable with
my public-speaking skills and would like to give
more presentations and talk in front of others or in
meetings.” Add that you are aware of the problem
and you are doing your best to correct it by taking
a course of action.

7. 6. Why should the we hire you as testing coordinator
position?
This is the part where you link your skills,
experience, education and your personality to the
job itself. This is why you need to be utterly
familiar with the job description as well as the
company culture. Remember though, it’s best to
back them up with actual examples of say, how
you are a good team player.
It is possible that you may not have as much skills,
experience or qualifications as the other
candidates. What then, will set you apart from
the rest? Energy and passion might. People are
attracted to someone who is charismatic, who
show immense amount of energy when they talk,
and who love what it is that they do. As you
explain your compatibility with the job and
company, be sure to portray yourself as that
motivated, confident and energetic person, ever-
ready to commit to the cause of the company.

8. 7. What do you know about our company?
Follow these three easy research tips before your next
job interview:
1) Visit the company website; look in the “about us”
section and “careers” sections
2) Visit the company’s LinkedIn page (note, you must
have a LinkedIn account — its free to sign up) to view
information about the company
3) Google a keyword search phrase like “press releases”
followed by the company name; you’ll find the most
recent news stories shared by the company
Remember, just because you have done your
“homework”, it does not mean you need to share ALL of
it during the interview! Reciting every fact you’ve
learned is almost as much of a turn off as not knowing
anything at all! At a minimum, you should include the
following in your answer:
1. What type of product or service the company sells
2. How long the company has been in business
3. What the company culture is like OR what the
company mission statement is, and how the culture
and/or mission relate to your values or personality

9. 8. Why do you want to work with us?
More likely than not, the interviewer wishes to see
how much you know about the company culture,
and whether you can identify with the
organization’s values and vision. Every
organization has its strong points, and these are the
ones that you should highlight in your answer. For
example, if the company emphasizes on integrity
with customers, then you mention that you would
like to be in such a team because you yourself
believe in integrity.
It doesn’t have to be a lie. In the case that your
values are not in line with the ones by the
company, ask yourself if you would be happy
working there. If you have no issue with that, go
ahead. But if you are aware of the company culture
and realize that there is some dilemma you might
be facing, you ought to think twice. The best
policy is to be honest with yourself, and be honest
with the interviewer with what is it in the company
culture that motivates you.

10. 9. Did the salary we offer attract you to this testing
coordinator job?
The interviewer could be asking you this
question for a number of reasons.
Obviously, the salary is an important factor
to your interest in this job, but it should not
be the overriding reason for your interest. A
good answer to this question is, “The salary
was very attractive, but the job itself is what
was most attractive to me.”

11. 10. Do you have any questions to ask us?
Never ask Salary, perks, leave, place of
posting, etc. regarded questions.
Try to ask more about the company to show
how early you can make a contribution to
your organization like
“Sir, with your kind permission I would like
to know more about induction and
developmental programs?”
OR
Sir, I would like to have my feedback, so that
I can analyze and improve my strengths and
rectify my shortcomings.
