• Completing pre-delivery inspections on both the truck and trailer.
• Ensuring the correct trailer is coupled securely and is legal to go on the road.
• Completing defect and check sheets prior to departure and reporting any defects to the Transport Manager.
• Adhering to road legislation and Tachograph laws by driving in a professional, safe and courteous manner.
• Ensuring the stock gets to the correct store on time and undamaged.
• Unload and load the trailer following safe systems of work as required by Company policy.
• Return to the depot with a refueled vehicle and leaving the vehicle in a serviceable condition.
The company uses a Fleetboard Telematic driving style system to monitor driving capabilities. I consistently achieve a
high score every week which proves my high standard of driving.
HGV Driver 1990 - 1993
Solar Services (Agency Driver) contracted to work for TESCO.
• All Pre-delivery inspections on both the truck and trailer ensuring it was all safe and legal.

• Planning the best route to the store.
• Ensuring that stock got to the store on time and undamaged.

HGV Driver 1984 - 1990

• Performing multi-drop deliveries all over the South west of the UK.
• All Pre-delivery inspections on both the truck and trailer ensuring it was all safe and legal.

Mechanical Transport Driver (MTD) 1978 - 1984

• Posted to RAF Abingdon where I completed my HGV Class 3 licence before being posted to RAF College, Cranwell.
• Driving Tankers, road sweepers, cranes, forklifts and various other vehicles.
• Trained on coaches to eventually become a coach instructor.
• Driving both in the UK and abroad (these locations included Germany, Gibraltar, and Guernsey)
• Driving and navigating off road, transporting wide loads, clearing runways of snow using snow ploughs and refueling
aircraft.
• Loading and unloading vehicles using a fork lift truck.
• Responsible for the undertaking of daily servicing of vehicles including wheel changing, vehicle cleaning, greasing,
refueling and oiling.
• Servicing to include removal and fitting of minor components such as windscreen wiper blades, bulbs and fuses.
