This document discusses the proper use of language for Christians. It provides several Bible verses exhorting believers to avoid obscene, foolish, or gossiping speech and instead use their words to build others up and give thanks to God. Christians are encouraged to keep their tongues from evil and their lips from lying, and to let gracious speech come from their mouths rather than filthy or harmful words.

2. Eph. 5:4 It's not right that dirty stories, foolish talk, or obscene jokes should be mentioned among you either. Instead, give thanks to God. (MSG) Though some tongues just love the taste of gossip, Christians have better uses for language than that. Don't talk dirty or silly. That kind of talk doesn't fit our style. Thanksgiving is our dialect.

6. Eph 4:29 Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up in respect of need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing.

7. Col. 4.6 Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out.
