The Fort Hires New General Manager, Tom Lucas
Lucas brings more than 25 years of restaurant industry experience to Denver’s landmark restaurant
July 23, 2014 – DENVER, COLORADO – The Fort restaurant of Denver welcomes a refreshing
employee shift this summer with a new hire, Tom Lucas, assuming the role of general manager.
Lucas brings more than 25 years of industry experience and nearly a decade of managerial
experience to The Fort, which sells more buffalo steaks than any other independently owned
restaurant in the country.
“The history and the elegance of The Fort has intrigued me, and has brought a whole new meaning
to me in my position as general manager,” said Lucas. “I have such a passion for food and service,
which I hope to keep going here at The Fort for many years to come. Maintaining the integrity and
the history of The Fort is my number one priority.”
Lucas offers a wide range of skill and expertise relative to the industry and has been contracted to
serve several Denver restaurants in need of managerial guidance. His strengths lie in raising the bar
and then establishing consistency in hiring, training, customer service, inventory and computer
systems and private dining facilitation, among others.

Lucas earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Nebraska. He is
fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, has an extensive wine and spirits knowledge, and strives to always
provide top-notch customer service.
