William Todd Field is an American actor, screenwriter, and film director born in 1964 in Pomona, California. He grew up in Oregon and studied acting in New York City before landing roles in films like Radio Days and Eyes Wide Shut in the late 1980s and 1990s. Field directed his first film, In the Bedroom, in 2001 which was a critical and commercial success receiving several Oscar nominations. His second film as director, Little Children, was also well received though slightly less acclaimed than his first. Throughout his career Field has proven himself a talented actor, writer and skilled director known for his emotionally compelling films and beautiful cinematography.
