Much of this burden will fall on poor countries and the
poorest people living there. While smoking rates have fall-
en in rich countries over the past two decades, smoking is
on the rise in developing countries.2 Currently, more than
three quarters of the world’s 1.2 billion smokers live in
low- and middle-income countries, and smoking-related
deaths are estimated to double in number by 2030.
As Poland’s story shows, there is reason to hope that
concerted efforts to tackle the growing smoking prob-
lem in low- and middle-income countries can succeed.
In many instances, this will likely take a very high level
of political commitment—enough to counter the sig-
nificant economic influence of the tobacco industry—as
well as state-of-the-art communication strategies to
induce major shifts in attitudes toward smoking.

health to the next person who comes in a contact with the smoker that is also called as a passive smoking (second hand
smoke). Most of the Indian peoples have low knowledge about the harmful effects of smoking. The present investigation
study that the effects of smoking scores to 43.33%, 23.33%, 6.67% and 26.67% in Nashik District. The socio
demographic variables Age, Sex, Religion, Educational status, Occupation found to be significantly influencing
knowledge of the peoples. The finding of the study showed that majority of the adults were between 18-23 yrs = 43.33%,

Diarrhea is an increase in the number of stools and the passage of liquid, unformed feces. It is associated with disorders affecting digestion, absorption, and secretion in the GI tract. Intestinal contents pass through the small and large intestine too quickly to allow for the usual absorption of fluid and nutrients. Irritation within the colon results in increased mucus secretion. As a result, feces become watery, and the patient is unable to control the urge to defecate. Normally an anal bag is safe and effective in long-term treatment of patients with fecal incontinence at home, in hospice, or in the hospital. Fecal incontinence is expensive and a potentially dangerous condition in terms of contamination and risk of skin ulceration

There is a movement towards home-based care for the elderly, next generation scanning and MRI devices, wearable technology, artificial intelligence incorporation, and online connectivity. Experts also see a focus on predictive, preventive, personalized, participatory, and precision medicine, with rising levels of integration of home care and technological innovation.
The average cost of treatment has been rising across the board, creating additional financial burdens to governments, healthcare providers and insurance companies. According to MCG, cost-per-inpatient-stay in the United States alone rose on average annually by over 13% between 2014 to 2021, leading MedTech to focus research efforts on optimized medical equipment at lower price points, whilst emphasizing portability and ease of use. Namely, 46% of the 1,008 medical technology companies in the 2021 MedTech Innovator (“MTI”) database are focusing on prevention, wellness, detection, or diagnosis, signaling a clear push for preventive care to also tackle costs.
In addition, there has also been a lasting impact on consumer and medical demand for home care, supported by the pandemic. Lockdowns, closure of care facilities, and healthcare systems subjected to capacity pressure, accelerated demand away from traditional inpatient care. Now, outpatient care solutions are driving industry production, with nearly 70% of recent diagnostics start-up companies producing products in areas such as ambulatory clinics, at-home care, and self-administered diagnostics.

- 1. What are the health risks associated with tobacco use tobacco use poses a significant threat to public health due to its association with a wide range of adverse health effects. Chief among these risks is the increased likelihood of developing various diseases and conditions, primarily attributed to the active ingredients in tobacco – nicotine and tar – as well as other harmful chemicals found in tobacco products. First and foremost, tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable death worldwide. Smoking tobacco is linked to numerous life-threatening conditions, including lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and heart disease. It's estimated that smoking is responsible for over 8 million deaths annually. Additionally, tobacco use contributes to a host of other health problems, such as stroke, respiratory infections, and various cancers beyond the lungs. Furthermore, it has detrimental effects on oral health, leading to gum disease, tooth loss, and mouth cancer. Moreover, secondhand smoke exposure is also a major concern, as it can harm non- smokers, particularly children and pregnant women. It increases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), low birth weight, and developmental issues in children.
- 2. In conclusion, the health risks associated with tobacco use are extensive and severe. Quitting tobacco is the single most effective step one can take to improve their health and reduce the burden of tobacco-related diseases. Public health efforts aimed at tobacco control remain crucial to reducing the global impact of this harmful substance.
