Today's class will review the reasons Europeans explored, learn about Spanish and French settlements, and discuss how Congress named the new nation the "United States of America" in 1776. Students should copy information on settlements and the table of contents into their notebooks, take out assigned readings and work from yesterday, and not use the iPad on their desk.
