12. ATREUS Asset Tracing System
1. Introduction
ATREUS is a system, for collecting, wirelessly transmitting and analyzing data adapted
for various types of coolers. The data are collected from the ATREUS Fridge Units
and transmitted via GSM network, using SMS technology. Data are received from the
ATREUS Base Unit and are stored in a local database on a PC. The ATREUS PC
software manages the local database processing the data and alerts the
maintenance services to PC or by sending e-mails and SMS. Also, as an extra option
or a service ATREUS can update a web database, through which the events and
alerts are viewable from anywhere by using a web browser.

2. System Composition
The ATREUS Fridge Unit collects data and transmit them via GSM network, using SMS.
Each of the Fridge Unit device is placed in each cooler, to monitor it.
The ATREUS Base Unit is associated with a PC, where the unit communicates and sends
the data to the PC through a USB port.
The ATREUS PC Software through the Base Unit, manages and configures the Fridge Units
and provides the functionality for the collection, displaying and analyzing of the data.
The system provides the following basic functions.

The VVR-CS-V5 is a multi-channel logger. The electrical parameters that
can be recorded are: RMS voltage , RMS current, power factor,
frequency, active power and active energy of the network in which it is
connected, also has 1 digital input for counting the door's openings and
4 inputs for thermocouples.

The POLYMETRON is a multi-channel DATA logger.
•Thermal Units. Each unit is located inside the test. Logging of up to 256
temperatures, at ±0.2C accuracy
•Analogue Unit. It has 16 configurable analogue inputs (0-10Volt or 0-20mA)
•Variac Units. These units stabilize the main input voltage @ ± 1 Volt.
•Electrical Measurements Unit. Measures 40 different elec. parameters
•Relay Unit. Has 8 relays which can be programmed.
