Morning Meeting (8:55-9:15)
Grade Level: 1st and 2nd grade
Title: Morning Meeting
Enthusiastic About:
I am enthusiastic about teaching new songs to the students.
Materials:
Calendar, weather chart, coins, graph, even Steven, odd Todd, number chart, dry erase
markers, white board, popsicle sticks with students names on them, shapes, money, weather
bears and clothing, temperature chart.
Objectives:
Students will be able to name the shape of the day. Students will look out the window and tell
me what the weather is. Students will be able to recite the numbers in sequential order.
Students will be able to recognize how much money is in the cup. Students will be able to
verbalize the days of the week.
Assessment of Objective Accomplishment:
I will be assessing the student’s participation during the morning calendar.
Procedure with Amount of Time Stated for Each Activity:
Time: 20 minutes
Sing Good Morning Song.
Ask the students what month and year it is.
Place the correct shape that is in sequential order on the calendar.
The student of the day picks out the correct shape and writes the date onto the shape.
Ask the students what day of the week was yesterday, today and tomorrow is.
2. Sing the Days of the week song.
Ask the students if it is cloudy, sunny, rainy, or snowing. The student of the day will pick the
correct picture to place onto the bar graph. Ask the students how many sunny, rainy etc... there
are.
Next the students will figure out how many degrees it is outside by looking at someone’s
phone.
I will then have the student of the day place the correct circle on the temperature chart.
We will then go over to the weather bear and I will ask the students to place the correct
clothing onto the bear.
Have the student write the correct tally marks on the chart, we will then count by 2,5,10,100.
Next have the students say the ordinal numbers.
The class will count the coins and write the correct amount on the board.
Next have the students look at the number chart on the white board and ask each student to
identify an even or odd number. Lastly, have 2 students pick a number on the chart. The
students will start with 1 number and end counting with the 2nd number.
The very last item is to hold up the clock and ask each student to write or say what time it is.

Tell and write time to the nearest half hour using both analog and digital clocks.

Saxton Math (9:20- 9:50)

Title: Saxton Math
Enthusiastic About
Having the students create their own thermometer.
Materials
Temperature paper, crayons, markers, red construction paper, number paper, scissors,
thermometer.
Objectives
Students will be able to read a thermometer and tell the teacher how cold or hot it is in
Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Students will be able to tell me how temperature affects our bodies.
Students will go outside to read the temperature outside and record it.
Assessment of Objective Accomplishment:
I will collect the student’s project and worksheet.
Procedure with Amount of Time Stated for Each Activity:
25 minutes. I will hold up a thermometer to show the students it looks like. We will go over
Fahrenheit and Celsius and what side of the thermometer they are on. Next, I will go over the
pages in the student’s packet about temperature, we will work together on the first page. Then
the students will finish the other 2 pages on their own. Lastly, students will create their own
4. thermometer with the help of their staff and me. We will go outside to see what the
temperature is outside and record it on our paper.

Title: 100th day of school
Enthusiastic About:
I am excited to create the craft with the students and sing the 100th day of school song.
Materials:
100 chart, crayons, Styrofoam cups, construction paper, dotter markers, glue, pencil, timer.
Objectives:
The students will be able to tell their staff member or the teacher which numbers are even and
which ones are odd.
Students will be able to count all the way to 100 without stopping.
Assessment of Objective Accomplishment:
I will assess the 100th day worksheet.
Procedure with Amount of Time Stated for Each Activity:
30 minutes. These activities will be done at 3 different tables/desks. The teacher will write on
the desks/tables what number they are. The students will be given a number they will start at
5. their station. When the timer goes off the students will move to the next station until they have
finished all of their 100th day math activities. Station 1 will have a hundred charts. The students
will read and follow the directions to create a 100.Students will also go over the odd and even
numbers. Station 2 will have several minutes to create a tower using 100 cups. Lastly, the
students will create a 100th day gum ball craft at station 3. Students will use the dotter markers
to create 100 gumballs.
