But there’s one that got its start in…well…an
Assisted Living community.
Tod Petty, was a 40-something Assisted Living
Business Development Manager
living in a 400 sq. ft. room in the
community. For one year, he
witnessed and experienced the best
and worst senior living had to offer.
He saw first-hand how residents lived and how
they were treated.
Tod was struck by the lack of relevance residents
felt and it made an indelible impression on
him. He saw the seniors had lost connection
with friends and family, they were bored by
unimaginative activities. And they lost trust in
the people caring for them.
Trust is crucial in senior living, and is destroyed
when services aren’t delivered or residents are
neglected.
These observations influenced the rest of his
career.
Today, Tod is the President of Thrive Senior
Living of Atlanta, GA. Care is at the Core of
Thrive. And Tod makes sure Care occurs on
several levels.

of creating connected, active and purposeful
lives for residents drives the innovations at
