Re: Three Week Progress Report
I am reporting to you the progress that my group and I have made over the past three weeks. During
the first full week of working on the project, we came to an agreement on which project we were
going to do. We decided to work on the storm water management project for Clemson University.
Also during the first week we started to look at possible solutions to the problem. We had decided to
install rain gardens around campus.
This plan soon changed we had a changed when we had a chance to talk to Tony Putnam, Clemson’s director of
facilities. The problem that he presented us was bigger than we had originally thought. We then had to decide if we
wanted to approach the problem on quantity or quality. After talking to our advisor we decided that looking at quantity
would be the best option but after doing further research a lot of the sustainability solutions handle both quantity and
quality.
As of right now we are working on getting the parameters needed to calculate the amount of water that goes into
the bottoms. Once that number is found we will then look into the best solution for the amount we are trying to
reduce.
Please let me know if there are any other resources that we could use that will help us get the
parameters needed to use Win TR. I will continue to keep you updated on our progress.
