Narrative Structure

4. story arc
Rising action- they are all sat around the table anticipating why they have all been
invited to dinner at Woody and Lol’s. They are all having a conversation around
the table thinking it is good news until Lol stands up and starts to talk.
Climax- they all start to shout at each other about what Lol has just told them that
she killed their dad and not the person who is in prison for her. After Lol told
everyone this Kely starts to kick off because she can't believe it, this is also where
Milky starts to voices his option.

5. Technical Elements
The scene we looked at in This Is England was all shot from one angle, bottom of
the table. The lighting in the room is always bright to try and brighten the mood
with what they are telling each other because it is a dark confession. When the
main characters are about to talk about something important, the camera moves
in for a closer shot of the characters’ faces.
